LJGB
Hey! Thanks for the awesome guide. I've ran into a small problem with this step: "WorkshopBorder- Drag from the object window into your cell and right-click>edit· LinkedRef tab > Ref = WorkshopWorkbench - keyword = WorkshopLinkBuildableArea" I can't seem to find the "WorkshopBorder" object you mean. I'm seeing a list of the other settlement borders, and a layer called "WorkshopBorderArt" Not sure what to do here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! BlahBlahDEEBlahBlah
Well, you can actually skip that step entirely. If that's left out, the workbench will just fall back onto using one of the linked primitives (like DefaultEmptyTrigger, for example) for it's buildable area. LJGB
Ahh, great. That's what I'd guessed. Thanks again for writing this guide, I've managed to build my dream settlement in the game and it works beautifully.
lelcat
Not sure if related to settlements but this started to happen when I added a working settlement.Whenever I open the map in my worldspace and the mouse goes near a mapmarker the game instantly crashes without an error message.Any advice on what might be causing it? Synpathy
Thanks for the great guide. Seems I had a problem following it though as I'm really out of my comfort zone on this. Just wondered if anyone can point out which part of the guide is responsible for sending companions to the settlement? In my game I can select to dismiss them to the place but they just stand still? If anyone can help nail the issue down I'd really appreciate it! Thanks everyone.
tarsis31
Ok, I am following this guide, from scratch, as green as could be modding Bethesda games. Some things I have found. 1. Save after every step. This CK is as crashy as could be. Mine crashes about every 4th thing I do, and crashes on the 4th attempt to undo. 2. Many of the steps call for "LinkedRef tab > Ref = WorkshopWorkbench" I have to place the Workbench so I can select it from the render window. I cannot just change it on edit from the tab, the option to type is grayed out. Placing the workbench would have to come first in the guide. 3. Workshoplinkedprimitive - Make it as big as your settlement "and also with WorkshopsetOwnedTrigger" How do I change sizes? EDIT: Figured it out. 4. When you put in workshopborder check "initially disabled" so it isn't seen from space in game. These are the first 3 EDIT: 4 that stood out on my first attempt. (Well, I've done the first 3 steps 4 times.) I think you should have been less afraid of long winded prose and more willing to put a little more of yourself into this guide with some explanations, anecdotes of your discoveries, trials and tribulations of getting here. Reading a few hundred extra words only takes a minute or two, and might put some more into perspective. I imagine there was much frustration in pulling these steps from the aether. Thanks Blah, for putting this together, without this guide specifically, I would not even have have downloaded the Crash Kit. Also, something must not be working right, my settlements happiness is 0 and no one comes to the beacon, even after several days. This may or may not be a necro, but as I am following this guide explicitly, and is the only guide of it's type I have found, it is relevant. Synpathy
Key '2' is used to resize primitives or right click > edit and change the values under primitive tab 'bounds' if you want to be accurate. Not sure if your asking or pointing out that people may not know. Just in case that info is here now =]

speedynl
So I read this guide and I'm having some trouble my settlement won't get any settlers (Ihave the beacon) and I cannot send a supply line there 1.My settlement is a new worldspace2.I have completed the list above except for the part involving the quest Everything else is working fine but it won't show in the list of settlements pls halp me resolve thiswell without 2 it will not work, the quest is needed to make it work 100%and it make no diffrent if your settlement is in a new worldspace and or interior, even outside border/map works fine if you navmesh the right cells to connect to the 1's from beth, if you don't do that your supline will still work but the npc just stand there and don't movedoing it right is the key to victory Edited August 18, 2016 by speedynl
