roostershooter
I am completely , 100% BRAND NEW to modding. I understand the basic concept of installing mods, but need step by step instructions on how to Manually install Bodyslide for Fallout 4. I have looked high and low and cannot find instructions for manual installation. Videos on Youtube, and instructions elsewhere always begin with "How to use Bodyslide", but they don't tell you how to install it! Thanks for the help! Jeir
Cue a dozen people saying to install with NMM/MO. =P 1. Download and install 7zip. This is what you should be using to extract files manually.2. Download BodySlide.3. Open the BodySlide archive you just downloaded.4. Now either click once on the 'Tools' folder, click on 'Extract' above, and type in/find your Fallout 4/Data folder, or drag and drop that folder there. It should be in something like C:/Games/Steam/SteamApps/Common/Fallout 4/Data.5. Done. Installed. You should probably then look at installing an addon such as CBBE. With that you'd install the contents of the various folders in the archive, rather than the folders.
roostershooter
WHat do I do with the FOMod and Textures files that are in the .zip?
YeOldeSensenmann
You didn't look close enough because the instructions for manual installation are literally right in front of you if you look at the Body Slide page. ;) Installation can't be easier!Add the following lines to your "Fallout4Custom.ini" file located in "Documents\My Games\Fallout4":[Archive]bInvalidateOlderFiles=1sResourceDataDirsFinal=(No, that's not a typo.)ManualDownload the file and extract the options you need into your Data folder using 7-zip. Make sure the structure is correct: Data -> Tools -> BodySlide.Mod OrganizerInstall the archive to Mod Organizer like you would do with any other mod. Enable the mod and make sure it is loaded after your body mod(s) but before all BodySlide addons. Go to the "Data" tab to the right of MO and navigate to "Tools/BodySlide/BodySlide x64.exe". Right-click "BodySlide x64.exe" -> Add as executable (make sure it's the 64-bit one!). Choose "BodySlide" in your executable list and always run it from here.Nexus Mod ManagerInstall the archive to Nexus Mod Manager like you would do with any other mod and enable it. Under the "Supported Tools" drop down at the top of NMM, configurate/launch BodySlide and always run it from there. If NMM didn't find the BodySlide folder by itself, you have select the BodySlide folder within your game's Steam folder yourself (right-click). IMPORTANT: Do NOT select the virtual install BodySlide folder of NMM, select the one in the real game folder of Steam! Install any BodySlide addons to NMM as well.Note:If you're experiencing any problems, locate the main Mod Organizer/Nexus Mod Manager and BodySlide executables and set them to always run with admin elevation. That being said, you can ignore the Fomod and texture folders. The first contains the mod ID, author name and such for the mod manager to use and can be ignored because you installed it manually, the second is just empty. roostershooter
OK Thanks for the help. When I download a Bodyslide 'Preset' what folder do I install that file to?
Jeir
Fallout 4/Data, if they packed it properly. If not, the .xml file goes into Data/Tools/BodySlide/SliderPresets.
