Thallassa
Short video showing what I mean: I am sure everyone has encountered this. Clicking past the "required mods" and "pls donate" and "pls endorse" reminders is bad enough when you're going in for an update (you know those mods that update like 30 minutes after you just downloaded the last update? :P )... but when you need multiple files from the same page (like here, or on many other pages)... it's a downright nuisance. Now, I don't mind the reminders. They're important, and I've even benefited from them at times (saw the donate reminder for one beloved mod and was like "Oh yeah, I haven't donated have I!)I'd just like them to be a little smarter. I've got a few ideas for how this could work:1. Put a cooldown on them. Basically, once you've been shown the reminders for a particular mod, they shouldn't be shown again for that mod within a ... half hour period? 1 day period? Something like that. 2. Put some kind of thing in the cache that says not to show them again until page reload. (I like the cooldown idea better, but this might require less new code?)3. The endorse reminder doesn't show up until you've had the mod for 15 min, perhaps the same thing could be done for the donate reminder? (In this case I had just downloaded the first file and went to grab the second when I decided to make the video, which is why the donate reminder showed up on all of the clicks, normally it doesn't show up the first time you download from the mod page. Still, all clicks were within 30 seconds of first download). 4. The "Required mods" reminder could only show the first time you download a mod... it'd be super cool if nexus could track if the required mods changed since your last download, and show it again if they've changed but not otherwise, but I understand that could require quite a bit of new code. Still, once you've used a mod for a while I feel like it's fair to assume you know what the requirements are :P Any other ideas?Would Nexus be able and willing to implement any or all of these? tylitalo
If and when I feel like donating, I'd prefer to click the donate button on either the mod author or on the mod's description page. I may be more inclined to donate if I could disable the notification popup altogether, as I find the popup annoying to click through.. as minor as it is.
