NorokDovahkiinDoSkyrim
Can a TES Lore junkie either explain some of the lore of TES or point me in a direction where I can discover it on my own? I enjoy the gameplay of TES games but never was really interested in Lore until recently and not even sure where to start looking.

hejpadig
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Skyrim From that page you can search and explore what you want to know about the Skyrim lore, and the other lores as well. :ninja: Edited October 15, 2011 by hejpadig
NorokDovahkiinDoSkyrim
Ya I've been here but it still doesn't point me in a very good direction. UESP is a bit to large to just go searching for lore, I need somewhere to begin.
AurianaValoria1
You could try here, too: http://www.imperial-library.info/
Adrius2
You can begin anywhere really... I'd probably start with the timeline... the first Gods and everything.
NorokDovahkiinDoSkyrim
I think I've found a good starting place. Thanks for your help
Odai
Well... start small and work larger... And DONT EXPECT TO UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING. Everything IN the game is just that... it is written from the perspective of a person IN the game. Lore in TES is dynamic. There are mysteries and theories in the game just as much as there is in real life. Best place IMO to start are the 2 TES novels. The lore you will be reading in the UESP and in Skyrim itself will be histories and things will be slight different from how they actually happened in the game (example is the warp in the west's description of what happened in an older TES game (Arena)) Skyrim happens 200 years after Oblivion (previous TES game) whereas all previous games have been withing the lifetime of a single emperor Uriel Septim VII. But if you dont want to fork out the additional $25, then just start with the history and description of the races. Find a background you are interested in and start digging. I have played and read TES for 11 years, and there is always a new way to interpret or look at the histories.
Soolie
Some of oblivion's ingame books have a bit of lore In them if that helps.
Gnasker
Some of oblivion's ingame books have a bit of lore In them if that helps. Yep. Don't start reading it on uesp.net (which is an amazing side by the way!), get through it by reading it in ingame books. I recommend you get your hands on Morrowind, it'll give you an oppertunity to not only read but SEE some of the lore while experiencing parts of Tamriel.
