Mod Requests for Gifted Modders

I'm not exactly certain where to put this, or if I am even talking to the right people. But I really hope that someone is going to read this, and perhaps find a way to make my request a reality.

I am not a modder, I barely know how to program commands for an engine, so I don't know if what I'm asking for is possible or like asking for the world in my palms. HOWEVER, I've seen people do amazing things with mods, and make things I didn't even think could be done with a mod. So I hope someone finds this and makes what may be the impossible, possible.

There are three mods that I'd be really anxious for, and would install into my game of Fallout 4. AND I would hope that somehow, if these mods are done, someone out there can make them available for the modding community that's coming out to PS4 and XBOX One, since I only have a PS4, I would be very appreciative to have these mods on the consoles. Without further ado, here's the mods I so greatly want.

1. Light Build Power Armor/Exoskeleton Mod.

We all know and love the Power Armor from the series and when it comes to the armors in Fallout 4, they only made them more astounding since it explains how someone hast to jump into them, rather than pull it out of their backpack and slip it on.

However, as a person who always prefers agility and speed over brute strength, I always wanted to find a variant that light and thin, and provided a boost in speed rather than damage resistance. In essence, an Exo-skeleton. The design is overall more like a skeleton over your body compared to actual armor, and most importantly allows you jump higher, run faster and MAYBE even punch a little harder.

I've always wanted to have in Fallout 4 an Exo-skeleton/power armor that didn't add bulk to my character, and increased their speed and agility. Thus allowing me to still avoid bullets rather than tank them, and still feel like a badass wearing an elite piece of military grade technology.

IF someone is reading this and thinks they can pull it off, but would like an idea for what I'm asking, then look at this.

http://rexlare.deviantart.com/art/Sketchdump-21-570851690

Something I drew myself to illustrate my ideas for exo-skeletons. Imagine the second variant as Fallout 4's current Power Armor, and Variant 1 and 3 are what I'm looking for.

ALSO, this is just a small thing, but I would love to see a variant of the armor/design that looks completely like this

http://rexlare.deviantart.com/art/Sketchdump-29-594153624

The Samurai design is something I absolutely love, despite it being my design, so to see myself wondering around the wasteland dressed like this would be far too good to pass up. If not that, I'm sure someone can make a mod for Samurai Armor right? And hopefully it would show under the armor designs a mod developer would choose, IF they get this and decide to make my wish true.

2. Dishonored S.M.A.R.T. movement engine.

Fallout and Dishonored are both Bethesda titled games, and both run surprisingly similar. But let's be honest, when it comes to moving around the place, Dishonored has the superior engine. It's S.M.A.R.T. movement system isn't anything outlandish and is rather simplistic really. It mainly revolves around being able to climb up or hop over ledges and obstacles you can jump to/over, allowing you to dash to the side to avoid bullets or attacks and sliding on the ground when you run and crouch. But simplistic as they are, they add a very fluid and fun way to move around the world, suddenly allowing you to break from the limitations of ordinary gameplay mechanics.

I want to see this sort of gameplay in Dishonored. Since I've been playing a lot of Bloodborne, I'm used to being able to dodge to the side to avoid incoming attacks, so when I play Fallout 4 and realize how sluggish I am in terms of movement, I really feel limited to luck or tanking the attacks, which doesn't always work out.

So I really want to see a S.M.A.R.T. movement mod in Fallout 4, it doesn't even need to be a full fledged mirrors edge system, it can be just like Dishonored's where it's simpler. AND before you ask me if Fallout 4 has enough environment to do this in, the answer is YES. There's enough buildings, barriers and even the landscape itself that a system of movement like this would do well in. I would love to finally be able to be in the wasteland and vault over barriers, climb up over ledges and scale buildings, dodge incoming strikes by evading to the side, etc.

3. The final mod I would love to see, is straight out Bloodborne, and Saints Row. But it's not weapons, armor or gameplay, it's simply for your aesthetic privileges. I would love to see a mod that allows your character creation to go into as much detail as those two games do.

Whether you want to be a horrific monstrosity of nature, or you want to be a skeletal thin, black skinned warrior, or the one eyed, one horned, flying, purple, people eater.

(personally, I want to be like my Bloodborne character where I'm grotesquely thin, black like a crow, and with red eyes)

I like how Bethesda is starting to add more detail in character creation, but I feel they could do better. I know there are mods out there that may do something like this such as the CBBE body mod, but I feel like they too don't go into enough detail. Either that or all the people using it just use it to make a slutty female model...

So those are the three mods I would really love to see happen in the world of Fallout 4, and hopefully on the console. So I hope somebody finds this, and I hope that somehow, someway, these mods will be there waiting for me. And I finally can walk around the wasteland as the slender, charcoal black, samurai exo skeleton wearing, bullet dodging and parkour performing warrior I really want to be in Fallout 4.

If you've read this far, thanking for reading through all the way, and I hope that you may somehow be able to make my requests possible. Whether by your hands, or some other talented mod maker that you may know. If you do, I would be grateful and overwhelmed with joy...

There is a whole forum called mod requests. I suggest you post this there.

As for the mods you request, I think there's a good chance that you get something like (1), very little chance that you get (2) and a not great chance that you get (3).

There will be armors that resemble what you're looking for--the sirius assault suit, B-90 Armor and cross cybernetics already seem to, though they aren't power armor.

Someone will very likely try to add dodge mechanics and parkour and the like, but in my experience such things don't really work well if they're added as an after thought rather than something the game's designed around. Those things never quite seem to fit. And making every bit of rubble scaleable would be a monumental task and would introduce huge compatibility issues. Also, there's a good chance that any such mod just wouldn't work on consoles since it would be script heavy and would probably require a script extender (see below). So, the odds that someone sees something like through to completion, and that it actually makes the game feel like it's in a different engine and that it makes it to consoles? Vanishingly low, I think.

(3)'s more complicated. Racemenu for skyrim (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/29624/?) gave players a lot of customization options and it's author is at it again with fallout 4 (http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12631/?). That's the good news.

The bad news for you is that these mods require a script extender (F4SE in this case, SKSE for Skyrim) and F4SE will not come to consoles anytime soon and will never come unless Bethesda makes special arrangements. The problem is that F4SE doesn't install like normal mods--it goes in a different folder--so it can't just be uploaded to Bethesda.net. Now, the same went for SKSE and Steam eventually made special arrangements for SKSE since it was crucial to so many mods. So, it's not impossible that Bethesda may do something similar for F4SE. But it won't be anytime soon. Right now, F4SE isn't even developed enough to offer tech support and Bethesda's just trying to get mods up and running on consoles (and apparently Far Harbor also. Poor PS4 owners.) So... yeah. Now you will probably get *something* that improves the--imo--rather terrible character creation menu, but unless and until F4SE hits consoles, you're not going to get anything remotely Saints Row-esque.

CommanderRexlare, I usually pride myself on being able to spot sarcasm or parody or some other for of 'meta' content is a user post- but in your case I honestly think you are tring to be 'straight'. In that case, your post is probably the most hilariously wrong-headed, entitled screed I have ever read.

You need to stop playing this game, go outside, and learn something about REAL LIFE. The universe does NOT revolve around you or your desires. The rest of Humanity are not put there to be your 'slaves'.

You have detailed a FANTASY of how a game, completely unrelated to Fallout 4, could have been created if game devs existed merely to bring your fantasies to life (here's a clue- they do not). Now this in itself is no big deal. But that you think there is this magic army of people (modders) who might jump up and say "my god, these ideas are genius, we must rush to implement them" is very troubling.

Modders do NOT exist to make your dreams come true (and that is a very, very GOOD thing).

Where modders look for ideas from non-modders, it is not for the selfish vision an individual player has of how the world might be. No, it is for conceptual things that many people might agree should have been in the game in the first place, and that would work well within the technical restrictions of the existing engine and data set.

So saying "I wish FO4 had the melee system of Dark Souls 2- modders go out and make this so" is utterly unreasonable and stupid. Saying "I like that Demon Hammer from Dark Souls 2- could someone make a legal copy for FO4" is reasonable and has a small chance of happening.

Either be VERY modest in your request, OR take the time to learn what the FO4 engine can and cannot do, and keep your ideas within the bounds of technical possibility, and the likely interest set of more skilled modders.

PS since you clearly didn't like the mechanisms of FO4, and envisage a VERY different type of gameplay, you would be FAR better off writing a letter with your ideas and sending it off to game devs - but let me warn you- from having inside experience, sadly such letters go straight in the bin- whether they contain good ideas or not. Which takes me back to my main point- try to change the world in small focused degrees, not with some all encompassing giant master plan.

Overreact much? He didn't demand anything. He never said modders existed to make his dreams come true. He politely requested the impossible. He's obviously completely new to modding and--like most beginning mod users--has no idea what the limits are or how hard it is to approach them. That's not his fault. How is he supposed to know that it's reasonable to ask for a weapon from dark souls but not the melee system? There's no document floating out there detailing exactly what Fallout 4 can and cannot become in the hands of modders. In the end he thought that maybe someone would read this and think "my god, these ideas are genius, we must rush to implement them." At worst, that's naive. It's certainly not "very troubling."

If someone of the PC master race posts a big long request that can't be made, that is just business as usual here on the Nexus.

If a console player posts a big long request that can't be made, everyone loses their minds.

These kind of requests are as old as modding itself.

Correction - Zanity alone loses his mind.

I read that long-winded, over-the-top reply-post yesterday and had no words for just how disgusted it made me feel.

A more condescending reply I have not seen in a very long time. The very epitome of the whole "PC Masterrace" BS.

I know I still have a long way to go to learn how to get my PC to run better, and to have fewer troubles, in fact I know F-all about how to do it, and really do need help, but it's posts like that one that will make me forever nervous about showing my inexperience on these forums.

I read this directly after reading this thread

https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/4453055-this-is-what-happens-when-you-support-console-modding/

So I am just a bit annoyed by the 'us against them' mentality, where the PC gamers are acting like it is the end of the world because the console gamers are now doing what they do? Angry that console gamers can now make the same silly requests that used to be exclusive to the PC...

It is just an example of people who feel better about themselves because others are being kept down.

But Zanity does have a reputation for being an angry old hermit living under a rock who hates on everything. So don't take it personally that he insults people who are new.

Do you know DDProductions? Pretty much the biggest and one of the most successful modders in the entire modding community? Zanity went off on him about 'ruining the game' the other day because he made a mod that added Borderlands type features to Fallout...

So in his case it isn't bias toward the 'elite'... I think he is just bitter at the world or something...

Just read this, Zanity going off on one of modding's top dogs for no reason whatsoever.

I like the samurai power armor idea. I googled Hattori Hanzo and there was a ton of animated and digital stuff on him. He qualifies as both a samurai and a ninja so the costumes have a wide variety. Hanzos helmet still exists and there is a portrait of him in his armor. Judging by his helmet he was a true ninja. That and scrolls passed down to grandmaster Dr. Hatsumi dating back centuries indicate Hanzo was indeed grandmaster of a ninja clan. You can still learn to kick ass like Hanzo in Bujinkan Dojos. Ninjas adapt quickly and make use of technological developments so I'm happy with the Shadowed power armor mod but there is something about the look of O Yoroi (great armor) that might appeal to a lot of people
