I've been playing on oblivion and the 'moon' map for CoD zombies, and I've been thinking how epic it would be if somone made a moon mod that allowed you to travel to the moon and live there. I know the futuristic element is not really oblivion-ish, but I think if anyone could make a mod that created a completly new enviroment, with the gravity, the suits and even a way to walk on the moons surface up to a surtain boundary. I've been looking all over and I've been shocked to find no one has done anything like this.

Thanks to anyone who can make anything like this xxx

P.S. If anyone does make this, can they do it in a manuel form with an ESP to place in the data folder, I find this way easier than OBSE, cheers

Not too comlicated to make. Too unrelated to Oblivion lore for my taste though.

The moon.. in Oblivion. How would they even get there? And how would they make space suit, when they are so technologically set back that they still use swords? They barely know anything about anything more than what they'd beed.

I don't think the gravity thing could be done well. Nobody can make a good mod that simulates the levitation spells in Morrowind. I have pretty much tried them all, and every one of them is unsatisfactory.

If someone builds a really difficult mod like this, I bet they will have to use OBSE scripting. Or are you getting confused and saying you want an .esp instead of an OBMM OMOD?

Various people have made Halo, Star Wars, Star Trek, and futuristic gun mods. Some of them have turned out well. I would play a moon base mod if someone built one.

umm... magick? :psyduck:

It could be done in a more lore friendly way but won't fit in OP's concept though.

Nirn has two moons' date=' Masser and Secunda. The other astral bodies in the sky above Nirn are believed to actually be the spheres of the Aedra and Daedra, as seen from the mortal plane. The sun and stars are also punctures in the veil of Oblivion, through which the light of Aetherius shines into Mundus. One exception is the snake constellation, The Serpent, which simply 'drifts' about the sky. It is made up of "unstars".

As Oblivion is a fantasy, there is no reason why not.

I would think there is a constant somewhere in the CS that could change gravity. Just change the rate at which things fall. Jump height may be another variable that has to be changed. - Not positive though.

As for air, why not? At one time people believed that air was the same all the way into space. As for getting there - Magic works fine here. A portal or gate would be a simple way to travel to one of the moons.

Oblivion is a fantasy

After a huge rant post, I will cut it short:

"Fantasy and magic!" - is not a valid argument. Oblivion is bound by lore, so is magic. In terms of lore, nothing in Oblivion could reach the moon. Barely any mages could teleport short distances, how would they go to the moon?

The only entity I can think of, in Oblivion, that can teleport somebody to the moon, would be a Daedric God. Why would any of them make a portal to the moon, for the mortal to use?

This idea would suit Fallout a lot better.

Let people play the way they want. If they want to go to the moon, it is not your place to try to tell them that they cant, just because of "lore".Bethesda breaks their own lore constantly in every game anyways...

How is that relative? ... I am not saying they should not play/make things like it, I say "fantasy and magic" is not an excuse. Dragging in Bethesda in this is also unrelated. They make up the lore, they can break it down. It's like an author of a book, s/he can do whatevrr s/he wants with it. A random Bob on the street can't make it up, however, and find some excuse why it should work. The authors writes it, the author changes it.

As said, I am not telling anybody anything, and I don't understand where you took that from, I am just pointing out "It's fantasy" is an overused, bad, excuse for about everything. It is bound by lore. Take away the lore, and what do we really got?

This is a poll, by the way. Asking wether you, the individual, would play it, and why. Is it wrong of me to express why it is not lorefriendly and why I would not play it?

Cheers,

Matth
