I'm really new to FNV and its modding, so can anyone explain why this happens and which mod could cause this. I know uninstalling mods and see which causes the problem is a common way to solve troubleshooting but hey, why not ask.

Distant terrain, trees, and objects are what is known as a LOD/VWD issue. See this article for a description of the subject. It is not a mod conflict, but is indirectly related to your "load order" (LO). (The TESTG site grew out of a need to understand this and texture related subjects for Oblivion but it applies to all the Gamebryo engine games by Bethesda.)

 

If any LOD files (distant landscape terrain) have been added, run "TES4LL". (See the "TESTG" site for a glossary of terms and descriptions of/links to utilities.)

 

You need to run "FNVLODGen"; after "LOOT" to sort your LO. (FNVLODGen rebuilds LOD quadrants, and is LO dependent.) Don't forget to enable (checkbox) both "LOD Objects" and "LOD Trees".
