JDFan
I use Quarl texture pack 3, Mythic retextures (from him: http://www.tesnexus.com/modules/members/index.php?id=610829) and liquid water. Shaders in this image are MDLAA in shaderlist and Bokeh Circle DoF and Ring SSAO from the plugin. Bokeh Circle DoF is a very good depth of field shader but I don't find it good for general playing, I only use it for taking close up screenshots. I have All natural which in my opinion help a lot to have some very nice mood in outside scenes, I also have HDR and Bloom off as I feel they only make thing too shiny. I set shadow to 2048 in Oblivion.ini. It makes me lag a lot, but i only turn them on for screenshots. could u plz tell me on what line that of shadow is that u put to 2048 i wanne try it I think it is this setting : iShadowMapResolution=1024

BlaCkBlitZ
Textures and OBGE is all you really need. http://i.imgur.com/ni1vkl.jpg Thats what I'm talking about!!! Ok, I'm gonna need some help here. I know how to make textures magically appear into the games. But I'm kinda confused with OBGE. I've installed it, and installed the liquid plugin for it which seems to work, but the OBGE options itself doesn't seem to change anything. As in I try to set variables here and there, but nothing really works.... So do you download plugins and install 'em? Or are those settings set in OBGE itself... Caithe
Make sure you have at very least OBGE Core and Standalone Effects. Without the effects, OBGE is basically useless. Then you can also get Parallax Occlusion Mapping, Luminance HDR and Physically Correct Sky. If you have an ATI video card, you will have to use an AA shader since many OBGE shader wont work with forced AA.Run your game once with OBGE, when you exit, you should have an OBGE.ini in Documents\My Games\Oblivion\ change these line in it [shaders]bUseShaderOverride=1bUseLegacyCompiler=0bSaveShaderOverride=1bCompileSources=1bRuntimeSources=0bOptimize=1 Then go in your Oblivion\data\Shader\ and open shader list. You can add any shader you want to load permanently. Personally, I only add MDLAA.fx. I think nVidia can still force AA though. If you installed Physically correct sky, you should also add LightShafts_PCS.fx In game, you have a misc item named OBGE something. It will open a menu with all the usable shader files found in your shader folder. Shift-click an effect you want to enable and ctrl-click to disable it. If you simply click on them, you will get to their edit page where you can fine tune each shaders to your liking. OBGE will make your game freeze a moment when you first get in, this is because it is loading all the .fx files. The more files there is, the longer it takes to load. What I did is to delete all the one i never use. But if you do, make sure you only delete the one that normally show in the plugin window or you might delete something important.
ziitch
POM was supposed to be in Oblivion but never got fully implemented. But, since you are starting off, I would keep away from this until you are satisfied with the setup with the shaders that come with OBGE. By the way, on setting up the shaders, the rule is one AO shader and one DOF shader. You also have to put shaders in a certain order - This first post will help you out with some FAQs, and you can ask questions here if you have problems. BlaCkBlitZ
@olha2: Yeah, What I meant is, Caithe answered my questions already. I was trying to remember something in OBGE needed an extra button + click to do something with the options and it was always at the tip of my fingers, but I couldn't really remember it. Then Caithe said it was shift + click to activate and yeah...
ziitch
The utility esp Caithe mentioned isn't very effective nor updated. the topic that I linked you to has a better tool called OBGE Controller that's a bit more stable and responsive, and includes support for most of the new shaders. Caithe
I don't use OBGE controller other than in Nehrim because for some reason I can't get Bokeh Circle DOF and Godrays to work with it.
BlaCkBlitZ
I'm abit confused as to how to use some of the shaders. I've managed to enable the DOF, but the variables don't really do much for it.Colourmood is self-explanatory.ColourEffects just turns my screen to a single colour. As in, I can't see nuts except for 1 pure white screen. EDIT: Hmmm, I guess most of the shaders aren't for me at all. Other than DOF, the rest just eats performance like some black hole. All I want to do is to make the game look, very vibrant and rich in colours, like HDR but stronger(?) with abit of shine here and there. Like in this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWVxYYNdnw4&feature=related Or maybe its the weather mods that have different colour schemes at certain points of time.
