Odai
freaking hell .. what did they really expect? .. I'm disappointed too but the fact is they never said there were werewolfs .. Todd even said very early on during the radio show bethesda did that there were non at the time but they might be DLC .. since then they have kept quiet and just now drop the bomb that they didn't make it into the game .. why can't fans act like adults and realize this isn't some major missleading lie .. its not like someone out there preordered only for the werewolves .. sheesh .. I feel really bad that pete has to deal with those stupid fans that believed every rumor.. the fact is there have never been werewolves in any TES game except the bloodmoon addon .. why would they now? Short sighted are we? Daggerfall had it so technichally all of Todds TES games Oblivion was the first to not have the game

Short sighted are we? Daggerfall had it so technichally all of Todds TES games Oblivion was the first to not have the game at launch morrowind didn't .. and idk about daggerfall .. what about arena? if daggerfall had it then its the only game to have it at launch. All I'm really saying is that its not fair to attack pete like this was some sort of conspiracy  .. I wanted werewolves just as bad as anyone else http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/446811-need-a-werewolf/ .. but I'm not blind to Bethesda's perspective on this .. they didn't manipulate us or use the jedi mind trick .. they just didn't talk about it. I really think they had their reasons .. spoilers is one .. they don't want to give away other things they arn't talking about by saying no .. for example .. there is still a slight chance to friend a dragon and use it for fast travel .. or even become a dragon .. bethesda has avoid those Qs as well .. what if they were in the game? .. so beth avoids those but then says no to werewolves.. soon enough everyone starts going "oh werewolves are out but they aren't answering the dragon fast travel Qs .. that must mean they are in!!" .. thats how these rumors start .. it happens with every game at this point and they know there is no staopping the fans from coming up with things. Second and what I think is pretty likely .. They have been flooded with werewolf rumors ever since the radio interview where the host asks todd a list of thing and todd response "maybe, maybe, maybe" over and over again then when asked about werewolves he makes a statement about how they had vampires in the past then jokingly that they are going to need to make a whole lot of DLC for all this stuff .. to me that was him saying "something like that" .. which turned out to be vampires.. but the fans took it as "OMG HES AVOIDING IT!! .. THEY MUST BE IN!" .. eh.. back to my point .. since that intense pour in of werewolf requests I think there is a good chance that bethesda was working on it and trying to add it to the game .. a lot of things were added in the final months and they probably told pete not to say anything confirming or denying it just in case. But whatever .. if you all want to believe Bethesda did this just to f*** with us go ahead .. I'm thankful that my logic isn't so simple and I kept it real "never believe rumors"

Missing the point I agree that everyone got and are getting too worked up about this. Point of my post...Daggerfall had wereboars and werewolves. Morrowind (in DLC) had werewolves. Vvardenfel was supposed to have werevultures... and I can see why they would avoid that, Oblivion was the first whole set (DLC included) that didnt have a single were-creature. Arena wasnt lead by Todd so I didnt include it. It had hell-hounds, which are the closest thing they had to a were-wolf, but the player couldnt become one. Skyrim in lore had were- bears but they were driven out by some alchemical ingredient that i can't remember. They also should have had were-wolves and were-boars --Just a minor oversight I decided to catch ;)
xaliqen
Just a small point, but Bloodmoon wasn't even released until an entire year after Morrowind came out. And, even then, you had to go and buy it on disc, it wasn't as convenient as DLC. Werewolves weren't a core part of the memories many held of Morrowind, because it wouldn't be until well after their first interaction with the game that werewolves were introduced. Odai
Just a small point, but Bloodmoon wasn't even released until an entire year after Morrowind came out. Werewolves weren't a core part of the memories many held of Morrowind, because it wouldn't be until well after their first interaction with the game that werewolves were introduced. I completely agree, but it doesnt omit the fact that they existed as a part of the game that was Morrowind. And to be honest my favorite memories in Morrowind are from the DLC. (Tribunal in particular). Skyrim, I never really expected to have were-wolves especially since they would be a vary different variety from those in Bloodmoon. However, if fans dont lash out and speak up, then whats next? Vampires get removed? How about Orcs or Argonians, they used to not be playable races, would they cut them short too? 1. Fans definitely were reading into nothing and need to chill.2. Fans definitely need to make sure they are heard, but yelling at Pete or making stupid polls arent the way to get their wishes across. 3. Were-creatures and vampires run deep in TES whether we want to admit it or not. Whether we play it or not. 4. For some people, the fact that you are fighting an immortal is important. Were-creatures allow Vampire immortals to get that done too. And vise versa. In the end on a personal level... I dont care. I dont play as an immortal. But I tell you, I get a kick in all games in killing them.

jedimembrain
depends who writes the lore .. there is nothing to say they arn't .. many werewolves in movies and books are immortal just like vampires .. but all this aside .. I'm slightly holding out for wereboars still <_<;

I think the swarms of were-wolves are harder than vamps anyways
