MasamuneZenith
So, I want to learn how to change the models of items and weapons in the game. I'm close to figuring it out, except for one drawback. When I export a .nif model into an .obj, Blender doesn't seem able to find the .obj files I've exported. I'm looking in the correct folder, but all that's available for me to select are more folders inside it rather than the files I need. So I guess my question is, how do I properly upload a model from the game into Blender?
TeamBacon
Did you click 'load' or did you click 'import'? I don't use Blender specifically, but most programs you can't just 'load' an obj, but you can simply click 'import' and then you can open the .obj. MasamuneZenith
That was my problem. I had to "import". If you're not using Blender, what do you use? I might like to try it.
TeamBacon
I use a combination of 3ds Max and Zbrush. I however got the licenses while I was working for a small company that provided me with the software. The prices for those two programs are a bit out of reach for the standard hobbyist. (I got stiffed out of my last paycheck when that company went bankrupt... so I guess nothing in life is free...)
steelfeathers
Editing meshes is actually pretty easy. You don't need to export as obj files. Follow this tutorial instead. It works for all meshes, not just armor. http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Creating_an_armour_for_Fallout_4._Part_1
