red triangles after update?

steam updated my game for apparently no reason, i do not know of any recent updates or patches, many in game items, and those added by mods are affected. most, MOST of the in world items are fine,, but when i equip them i get the big red triangle, guns armor and modded content included. theres not much consistency either, i loaded an old save(to see if my current save was junked), and i had my assault carbine, with the silencer and scope mod(mods added by mod, assault carbine was in game) equipped and pulled out, i switched to another mod added gun, red triangle, then i switched to my carbine and there was the error sign, even though it worked previously, im not really sure what to do about this

thanks for your help guys, re-invalidating solved the issue

vegas is in:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\fallout new vegas\Data

im not really sure what steam was downloading for Vegas, it was about a gig and a half, i recently downloaded honest hearts through steam, but that finished before my texture and mesh issue. although i never actually played the honest hearts content, so i would think it didn't finish downloading, but then it would not have allowed me to play the game, so im not sure

WHOA, ok, a few things, sort of.

1st, i tried to load a save while i was in game, and i noticed, that all my saves were titled corrupt_01 or something like that, so,

is this what it means to invalidate your save game? i back my saves every time im done playing, so no biggie, but in the past ive gotten this bug where i cant save my games, it just ctds whenever i try i thought that was invalidating a save, so are both of these results of an invalidated save or have i experienced more than 1 bug?

and i dont know if it helps, but when the game stopped working initially, the icons for modded content in the pip boy menu were all the same large florescent pink square

another update: the corrupt save thing is happening mid game, and i started a new game for testing purposes. i found a gun from a mod and it worked fine, no errors, then i went into a building(mod added) and it all went to beans, half the interior wasnt there, instead red triangles. when i left the building, i re-equipped my modded gun and bang, red triangle.

im going to start another new game, without the building i walked into (which was added by the last mod i put in when the game worked, the mod is "good things in good springs" any idea as to wether or not this mod may be jacking things up?)

oh and by the way, ive tried to reinstall a few mods, and during the installation, it tells me there are files in the folder with the same name, so i know the files are there, just in case they were corrupted i replaced them, but in-game nothing had changed

well, i started another new game without "good things in good springs" and i went into several buildings and messed with several mod added guns without any issues,

so im going to play for a bit and see if the problem persists, i checked the comments on the mod page and nothing really jumped at me that said others were having issues so i dont see how this mod was messing things up so bad, i tried reinstalling it before i had all these issues, because i went in the house and there were all sorts of texture errors (im not sure what its called, but the texture on the walls would rapidly change as i moved the camera around)
