Ankleon
So Skyrim's coming soon, but I'm still doubting about what character I'm making. The first thought is a Dunmer, so I can go for stealth, fighting and magic at the same time, so I get to see the guilds ect in one playthrough. But that seems boring, but I know I won't be able to resist joining the DB with my Nord barbarian either! I can't find a balance, should I just go with the Dunmer idea or? hejpadig
Man, I have no idea what to pick. At the moment I want something between Bosmer and Breton. The only real conclusion we can make is when the game is released, we will know. ;)

Cyberote
Perhaps make two characters. One for Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood and the other for the Fighters Guild and Mages Guild? Then you could just switch between them whenever you wish to do something different. Just remember to save. Freakin autosave overwriting lol

It's one at a time, having a second one breaks the immersion for me in a weird way.

Well for me the only reason I did everything with one character was because I kinda got bored and I had never done the Mages or the Fighters Guild quests. My only other option is to just do what you want and have fun! That's what TES is all about :D
Jermungand
You could try another race altogether, specifically one with bonuses that supplement your stealth role in an interesting way.
ziitch
I agree with the above poster - I'd go with an Argonian seeing how awesome they look this time around, and they are more for stealthy and poison-using characters...
lllJACKlll
honestly, i always go into an elder scrolls game with a character idea set in stone... then i play it intensely for about 2 days... find some crazy loot that i didnt have attributes for, etc. or made an evil character when i found a good chain i want to do and inevitably end up making about 3 characters that week until im happy lol, im sure you will go through something similar to that so just have fun with it
Jermungand
I agree with the above poster - I'd go with an Argonian seeing how awesome they look this time around, and they are more for stealthy and poison-using characters... Even non-stealth races could be a fun way to go. After all, you can stealth-cast spells now, so you could be a High Elf or Breton that messes with people relentlessly while remaining unseen. You'd be like a poltergeist! Edited October 20, 2011 by Jermungand
