  1. 1. Which console is going to be the first host of your copy of The Elders Scrolls V: Skyrim

My entire reason for playing an Elder Scrolls game is because of the mods.

I can't fathom playing a TES-game on a console. I absolutely 100% cannot understand the people who are only going to play this on a console. Your taking a wonderful experience away from yourself.

I want to play the game the way it was developped, I don't want to see it as a sandbox,

I've never modded and I don't know much about it except that the most liked

mods are for manga lovers, and I hate them mangas, so the choice is clear

for me, no mods.

Most people can't afford an Xbox 360, a PS3 and a gaming PC so i feel like even if someone wanted to play it on a particular system; they couldn't. Most people will play Skyrim on whatever they use outside of this game whether they like xbox games or are a hardcore PC fan. Edited by Razthemystic

Gotta be PC, mods give the game so much more life.

I held out for a long time on FO3 trying mods, for similar reasons as you ventrilol, but then I took a look at some of the mods in the other categories other than the IMO "weird" mods and found some amazing stuff realism adders, ect. I probably would have only played 150-200 hours on oblivion without mods, and my last save alone had over 300 hours. Mods extend playability, fix game play issues, either real or subjective, and can greatly increase the enjoyment of the game. On the down side, you have to have a bit of problem solving/tech skill to get a lot of mods to work together properly, or as I see it, perfect the game.

long story short, I used to think mods were lame, now they are the main reason I buy Bethesda games solely for the PC.

I would be extremely interested if you could give me some names, or even better, some links to these add-ons

thanks for the hints though, I'll check this out and start a new playthrough (Oblivion)

I'll see if I still have my list of mods around somewhere, but some basic ones that I consider the most universally needed are the increased textures, weather mods and user interface mods. I'll shoot you a pm if I find that list with proper names.
