Next move for the NCR?

I like pie. But regardless of the ending the next move for both NCR and Legion is to reinforce the Mojave. Neither of them are at a all or nothing commitment. Both have a large portion of troops patrolling their territories, and fighting on other fronts. So this is basiclly just to decide if House survives or not and how so.

I also like pie and a nice lemon meringue is fabulous. My Grandmother's cheesecake pie was to die for.

I would like House to survive, maybe not with control of the Dam (which could only be under NCR control as the Legion would choke Vegas) , merely to provide another power in the west for players to hopefully come into contact with.

I'd love for players to be able to chose a start area and have New Vegas be an option. I like House. He's kinda neat, except for the "Kill the BOS" schtick. He needs to work on his interpersonal relations with the other factions. Otherwise his next century is going to be tough to survive.

Actually killing the BoS is a tactically sound move. Look what happened to NCR after they decided to form an alliance with the BoS. BoS will just bide their time until they feel they have a good enough footing then go back to forcibly taking all technology. House is learning from the mistake of the NCR and America while the BoS never learn from their mistakes.

Honestly what do you think House will gain from an alliance with the BoS?

If the courier was not shot and delivered the chip House still couldn't upgrade the main force of bots. The Boomers may still not have any clue of the conflict but due to their xenophobic tendencies they would still launch artillery shells at any intruders kill many Legion before they are finally overcome. The BoS would show a small amount of resistance until they to are overcome by numbers. The Freeside,West Side, and North Vegas Square people would fight (most likely) but also would be killed due to their lack of weaponry.

If you don't finish a head hunting quest involving killing the head fiends the is a end game slide saying that the fiends over run McCarran so the fiends would help the Legion possibly leading to an alliance however Caesars hatred of drugs might cause that to not be a possibility. The Khans would see the true nature of the Legion once the dam is overtaken. With their women enslaved they most likely would revolt. So the remaining Khans possibly would join up with the Fiends. The powder gangers are not to be forgotten either for they to could join up with the Fiend-Khan alliance. The Jackal and Viper gangs would also join. They (being the Fiend-Khan-Ganger-Jackal-Viper alliance(lets just call them the Outlaws)) would take position in the most defend-able position that they have available being the Red Rock Canyons. They may be able to fend off attacks for awhile but it wouldn't be a permanent option. The Mutants however may all unite and fend off the Legion from Black mountain for it is by far the most tactically advantageous position. Eventually they would have to come down but only after thousands of legion were killed leaving the remaining legion to weak to stage a fight against both the Mutant and Outlaw factions forcing the Legion to ally with the factions or take a full retreat out of the West Vegas areas ( west of the city and north of Goodsprings) and focus solely on the Mojave Outpost to prevent the NCR from retaking the Mojave. The Outlaws and Mutants would then ally (OM for short( I think that they would evolve the name to Omnipresent meaning present every where)). After several years the Legion would either have enough power to wipe out the Resistance groups and continue the conquest of NCR lands or be pushed out by the NCR. The NCR would then be strained for forces and be overcome by the OM and so ultimately the canon ending through my processing is an Independent Vegas.

Well ingame conversations point to the contrary...

Eh..guy who gives you the quest 3 card bounty says that the NCR could take them out but would take significant casualties.

In my personal opinion the Khans due have the high ground and can probably retreat from the armory before the NCR arrives but the NCR have far superior numbers and would eventually take the canyon but again with high casualties.

they have the low ground in red rock. theres a number of paths that circle around and above it. Hell theres a NCR outpost above it thats well within rifle range. being IN a canyon is never a good tactical move. Now if they occupied the cliffs and mountains it would be different, but they dont.

I never saw a position where you could see inside red rock from the ranger outpost ill have to check that out. As for the paths Ive only found one and that leads through a cazadore nest and a very nasty fall...

And for some reason I see Oliver taking the direct and stupid path regardless...
