KDStudios
Hey there. Ever since Minecraft 1.9 Pre release 4 was released I have been testing and playing it out for quite a while now.All of these changes have drastically changed the way I play minecraft. Some of the changes are good... some of them are devastating. So what are your opinions of the new features in 1.8+1.9PR's and the upcoming features planned for the future? Ps. No fighting please, the game is what it is and it's up to Mojang what they do with it, regardless of how we think. http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/2696/20111021081816.png Edited October 23, 2011 by KDStudios
alonsomartinez
Hmm. Potion making and enchanting seem pointless to me. What is the use of enchanting a sword when there are only about 5 mobs to kill. A comparison to Oblivion would be " Hey, we have these really cool weapons... but you can only kill mudcrabs with them" BReeding was interesting. Made it easier to have an army of sheep. :D Edited October 23, 2011 by alonsomartinez
KDStudios
To be fair. I like the idea of that Silk Pickaxe enchantment (or whatever it is called)I've always wanted a way to collect Ice. ALWAYS. Now we have that :)All the others just seem to fall in place. At least they're not mandatory though. We don't have to make them :) So that's good. I think the enchantments are to add a humorous side to fighting. Setting enemies on fire while attacking them is fairly amusing :) Yes! I absolutely love the breeding aspect. Although it did take me about a week (minecraft days) to find all the different animals. Now I have them all in pens in a barn :)Chickens can self breed themselves though, that's hilarious. You only need 1 chicken to make an army.
DeathWarrior
Overall I like the 1.8/1.9 PR updates. Though I have two issues:1. How stupid the NPC villagers look vanilla. Though luckily their ugly noses can be edited out with a texture pack, like I've done.2. NPC villages using gravel roads. I think they should use cobblestone instead. Among my favorite things are:-The Ender/End, even though it seems incomplete (and probably is)-Enchantments-Creative mode
KDStudios
Yeah NPC villagers look really silly with their noses. I know it makes them look different but still it's not really needed. So they should remove the noses.I'm not a huge fan of the pig nose. Perhaps if it was added a lot earlier I wouldn't have minded though. The thing about gravel is that it looks really ugly. However many villages use gravel roads and in a way... It makes sense to use to. Using a texture pack (like my KDS photo realism for example) it makes gravel look fantastic and really makes the village look more appetising. But you're right it doesn't look very good in default textures. Perhaps they should use cobblestone if they're not willing to change the textures. (Why not they changed cobblestone and brick textures ¬_¬ *grumbles*) As nice as it would be... I think they are "mostly" done with The End. The thing is... The Nether was added LAST YEAR and since then hasn't been touched with updates until now. Even with the updates it's pretty much useless and I still don't feel inclined to visit there :/We'll see. The funny thing is I don't think MineCon will be the last minecraft update. I believe they will continue to work on it and add to it. Perhaps for a fee but who knows.
lostone1993
-snip- Alpha buyers still get all add-ons and updates free even after release, don't they?
KDStudios
-snip- Alpha buyers still get all add-ons and updates free even after release, don't they? As I have two accounts, one during indev and one during alpha. According to the promises Notch made we should get them.But... I am doubtful because not many companies give away free "DLC" or anything like that. And with the changing of the terms that Mojang made when Beta came around to take that promise away from Beta purchasers I think he might just take that away from us as well :/ The only way we will know is if someone interviews notch and asks him to tell us the specifics. KDStudios
If someone paid for the flight I would actually go to Minecon. Because it's definitely not worth the extra fees involved in getting there. :P Maybe next year? :P I would have recorded the entire thing anyway and interviewed as many famous faces I could find.
