  1. 1. Did you purchase a new computer or parts?

    • I purchased a new computer
    • I purchased new parts
    • I purchased new parts/or all parts and built my computer
    • I did not get any new parts(or at least not for Skyrim) But wish I did
    • I did not get any new parts(or at least not for Skyrim) And will not.
    • I don't care.
    • I purchased new parts/computer and now I regret it after see'ing Skyrim's specs!

I updated two computers for work in the past 3 months, one being my laptop and one being my workstation (Quadro 6000 for CAD use). Both will have no problem blowing through this @ max settings. So, none of the above because I did not need to upgrade again. I am however building a gaming computer after I sell off the old parts on my workstation. Already got the two EVGA 590classified Hydros, trying to pick the mobo though and cpu now.

Argh! I voted "bought new compy" instead of "bought the parts and built it myself!" I don't get to be one of the cool kids now.

EDIT: Refresh is a powerful thing. Vote changed!

<--Cool Kid.

lol,.. i was trying to think of all options that would apply, prob missed something that someone wouldve picked- but I think the current list works.

EDIT: Speaking of which, I did add another option just now,.. have fun all!

If I can find a quad core my motherboard can support I might be updating that in the next couple weeks .. my duo 2.6ghz is starting to feel old .. aside from that my GPU,RAM,OS are all good to go .. and I'm not a "I need 60FPS!!" type .. 25 is playable to me .. 35-45 is great .. 60 is just not noticable.

I will probably upgrade to a GTX 570 in the near future.

I recently added a 128GB SSD to my rig which should help load times and texture pop-in on a game like Skyrim.

So come release day Ill be running;

i7 920 OC to 3.8Ghz

GTX 275 OC (will upgrade to a GTX 570 if struggling with Ultra)

8 GB RAM

128 GB SSD

Ill have no problem with high settings, but Ill see if I think Ultra is offering anything drastically better, then decide if a need a new card. I am due for one anyway, The Witcher 2 could use a little extra leg room.....

I'm surprised people are so shocked this isn't a super graphically demanding title. Yes, it looks really nice, and certainly has an amazing level of detail for an open world game, but compared to BE3 or The Witcher 2, its rather tame.
