xelntchance
At this rate modding will be dead in another week xelntchance Jun 6, 2016 9:23 PM It has only been a week since X box joined the modding community. I say welcome to you all. The vast majority of you will be anonymous fellow gamers enjoying Fallout the way its meant to be played, modded with user generated content. Please understand that the people who create these mods have put tremendous effort into them. They spend hundreds of hours building in these game worlds and then share it openly. Prior to console modding going live, the modding forums were abuzz with excitement at the prospect of something new. Authors were also wary of that small percentage called the TROLL . Being part of a community they knew just how poisonous one person can be. The optimists knew that a company like Bethesda would have rules and moderators in place to keep things going smoothly, I mean its in their best interest..., isn't it? On the other side there was the thread saying get ready for the storm for console users are legion and that small percentage called TROLL is many. OH how right they were and yet it seems so much worse. Those TROLL users that are insulting mod authors by uploading and downloading with out the authors permission should be ashamed of themselves. Not to to forget those that are fueling this with forum posts disrespecting the very people who create mods. You have had a week of access to mods if this keeps up you will only have another week before its gone. Show some respect, have some patience. Many mod authors have purchased consoles and console copies of the game to test and upload their work. That is time and money on top of everything else they are doing. How about telling them thank you, looking forward to trying it out. No more of this 'PC elitist' tripe because that is Trolls feeding Trolls. Finally Bethesda SHAME ON YOU for allowing this mess, you don't seem to understand your own customer let alone product.
mlee3141
That PR reply by gstaff had me rolling on the floor laughing! "We're listening and actively working on improvements to make the experience better. We're committed to making Mods something that everyone can enjoy." Are you kidding me? zanity
Like Zenimax cares? It's all going according to plan. Independent PC modding of Beth games is being damaged. Beth is laying the ground for a future modding system that will ONLY allow mods on Beth.net - but that needs to wait until Beth has future open-world games out based on the new iDTech engine. Apple bans apps from its app store on all kinds of spurious and highly offensive grounds- and couldn't care less about any 'backlash' against app developer freedom. Bethesda intends to have the same kind of draconian control over mods for Skyrim 2, Fallout 4 etc.

If Bethesda does nothing against this, sits it out and restricts mods to Beth.net for future titles, do you honestly think that modders will switch to Beth.net after being basically told to shove it and deal with it? Bethesda would have to offer some serious benefits for this to happen... Anyways, I applaud the mod authors who are actively fighting this and for what it's worth, I'm in total support of whatever the Nexus and the mod authors come up with to keep control over the content they've created. Todd Howard has already stated in the past it is not suitable for their games. Besides, I think Todd Howard and company are plenty happy playing with their outdated tech (the "Creation Engine) to ever move to something more advanced. If anything will kill Bethesda, it will be their lousy tech. Not this scandal or any others like it. They're stuck in the past, and Fallout 4's glaring technical issues are a testament to that. They're a company from a bygone age, and as such have been surpassed by far better companies with far greater tech. It was fun and charming in the past, but the jokes run dry at this point. These are indisputable facts, and anyone that has paid attention to Bethesda and the games industry can see this as true. As for mods being only on Bethesda.net in the future, that makes no sense. The Steam Workshop failed. Paid modding failed. Bethesda.net will fail too. It was only designed to bring mods to consoles, the PC section is just there for those who liked the Steam Workshop (which believe it or not, there are people who liked the Steam Workshop). Unless you have some sort of actual data to prove your theory of Bethesda being in league with the Illuminati (which is what this sounds like by the way) then you should probably just stop with these crackpot theories I've seen you posting. Just saying.

Now you just get a hand-waved dismissal. You know nothing, Zan Snow.
