Qiw
So i recently installed oblivion, shivering isles and kotn, i also dled some mods (franc, SI and oblivion unofficial patches and midas magic).. I've never modded oblivion before and thought this might enhance my experience of the game, but whenever i exit to the outdoors (seems like it's only outdoors, my game crashes:.. tried another mod that's supposed to help with crashes, but i have no idea.. thought the bigger mods we're decently crash free, any tips on how to solve this? I've been trying to figure out what's really wrong but since im new to this stuff it's not going very well... Thanks in advance.

Qiw
Yeah, it seems like the problem is with compability? I have less crashes when i run as win xp compability mode.. (running win 7 right now).. but im not interested in running the base game only... :P
bben46
There is a huge jump in graphics requirements when you exit the sewers. If you have a problem there look at graphics intensive mods. Make a permanent save just before you make the final changes to your character, and a second just before you exit the sewer That is your first 2 fallback saves. The first allows you to quickly make a new character, the second is a safe place to start and fiddle with mods. Now, when you do get out, go to the Imperial City Market district and make a permanent save there at around noon. That is where you test for FPS as the FPS there is some of the worst in the vanilla game. My game runs much better in Win7 x64 with NO compatibility settings. I originally ran Oblivion on a WinXP 32 bit system. When I upgraded I imeadiatly noticed a substantial drop in crashes of any kind.
