Mages Guild Help

I had been hapily going through all the guild questlines with my khajiit lootsweeper and came across a glitch in the mages guild(and the Orrery) questline. Needing Bothiel's help to get the hastily scrawled note falcar had dropped to carry on with the questline i entered the Arch-Mage's lobby only to find the red marker pointing straight at the Orrery door assuming bothiel is behind the illegal "needs a key" door is there anyway i can change her position? (xbox 360 not PC)

Do you have the Orrey plug-in installed? According to UESP, that's a problem and the only way to resolve it is to delete the Orrey content and wait until the cell resets and kicks Bothiel out of the locked room. Then you reinstall the Orrey after gettin the note.

The Orrery cell still exists without the plugin, and knowing Bethsoft they probably left the packaging on the NPC when they removed the Orrery to be sold seperately. If you don't have the plugin, or some form of an "unlock" console command, your best bet is to try sitting outside and waiting 1 hour at a time for her to leave (she should eventually leave unless there is something telling her to wait inside). You may however have to try loading an earlier save, and hope the issue isn't the same next time.
