Someone stole my armor! Glich?

Strange thing with Oblivion vs Shivering Isles. After playing Oblivion for months, I completed the main quest, then added the Knights pack and completed that. Then I added Shivering, and did most of that, but when I went back to Bravil, my Crusader armor, which was in a chest in my house, was missing. And no, it was not taken due to infamy. I still have the mace and sword. I have gone to every house, and checked all the containers, thinking that maybe I dropped it off somewhere else but it's just plain gone. I have since been caught stealing, so have incurred the "you are no longer worthy..."

So my question is, If I go through the shrine praying, where would the armor return to (I am assuming it shows up somewhere or...)?

On a side note, sorta; I have also installed and played on my laptop. On that machine, after returning from Shivering, the Knights quest was reset somehow! I had to do the whole thing all over! What gives??!

Did you try checking the armor stand in the Priory Undercroft?

Yep, first thing I did. The stand was empty, so I put the sword and mace there. At least, the knights were milling about and I could tell that it was still a 'finished' quest. This is just another annoying thing that mars what would be a great game (along with the sneak view blackouts with 8x series Nvidia cards, and the crashes that come and go like a cold, and the crash on exit bugs.) Now I just gotta figure out where that armor WOULD be once I finish repenting at the shrines...

It might be easier to just get the item code from a cheat site and get it back that was as it appears you are still getting credit for completing it.

Do you have the SI serious bug fix installed?

madgamer, I have read elsewhere that it is not possible to add mod items via the console but you could presumably make your own mini-mod and put them somewhere.

Tis' possible Malchik, but harder. Unlike oblivion.esm which is always loaded first and has the ID of 00, other mods are assigned a load order ID based on their position in the list. You must find the 6 digit ID of an item, and combine it with the users unique load order slot for that mod.

Most likely the chest contents "refreshed." Most chests/barrels/containers in Oblivion will only hold things for a certain amount of time before the game refreshes its contents. Anything in such a chest would be gone forever. I've had this happen a few times. When your looking for a house mod make sure it says in the description that the chests do not refresh, so you won't lose all your stuff.

Even that doesn't mean much. Occasionally the game will still clear refresh non-respawning chests that havn't been opened or loaded after a long time because it flags that data as no longer valid. Since he recently came back from SI. this might be what happened if the chest, or anything else in that interior was different. It's probably easiest to just spawn a new one. You can get the first digits of the ID from any static which is added by the mod (while in game), and just use the rest of the ID as it's listed in the CS.
