What are your opinions on anime mods?

I don't think they fit in my games but then again when it's something cool I'm not against trying it out. For instance I'd rather play a regular kid rather than a special anime child race like Shojo but I'm glad some modders have made stuff for these races and I doubt they would have taken the time to do it if it wasn't for the anime styled kids.

It's a single player game and if people like adding anime stuff to their games so they enjoy them more then I'm glad for them.

It's my personal conviction that lore friendliness should never stand in the way of fun. After all as a Wild Wasteland player if I want furry babes in bikinis with katanas it's my inalienable right. ;D

Regarding this issue do you consider Sucker Punch to be in the same categories as animes? It's over the top, it has school girl uniforms and katanas so it probably qualifies. It also looks great and that's the point with anime, they often look great.

Also some anime stuff is definitely more suited to the Fallout world than you might think. Fists of the North Star anyone? Anything related to this anime is probably more lore friendly than most modern warfare style tactical outfits.

I dont like anime.... it kinda ruins the game. I dont want my fallout to look like another Japanese anime show. It also ruins all the lore which isnt that bad, it is just irritating. But if people want to play with little anime characters thats there right.... I personally dont see why people like anime.

Hey, it's a matter of taste. I'm sure you have interests that other people look at and say "Huh? WTF? Weirdo." about.

As it stands, I only like the anime-style mods that don't add crazy stuff to the wasteland. Bleach weapon mods? Hell no. school-girl outfits from (insert your favorite) anime? Nope. It's gotta fit decently in the wasteland, or at least be somewhat plausible, for me to use it. Thus, I use very few of them.

Then again, Big MT kinds throws any sensibilities out the window. 'Cause, you know, floating disembodied brains and giant robo-scorpions are pretty realistic.

Depends on the mod. I have a few outfits in game that are anime based. And they fit well. Also have a private mod companion thats from an anime, using the fallout engine and lings (Riza Hawkeye from FMA:B.) Some of it can fit some of it doesnt. I'm not a fan of use of the shojo race mods myself, but if people like to use them then thats their choice.

ANYTHING can be annoying, even if it's something you enjoy. I used to like metal before its fanbase started trashing the other genres I happen to like and started obsessing over how metal was superior to all other forms of music. But I'm not being in your face with my anime interests, am I? And you just have to avoid to Otaku's, because I certainly don't see any here.

Otaku just means fanatic. The Japanese Anime community has embraced the word with all it's negative connotation intact, for a reason I have yet to understand. I had a Japanese friend explain this to me when I asked her about the word's origin. So, yeah, I get a little annoyed when my otaku progrock friends tell me how awesome their stuff is (of which some is pretty awesome) and of how sh*t my "not progrock" music is.

Just as annoying as the Otaku are those who are otaku about how much they hate Otaku stuff. I swear, some of these people don't own a mirror.

Back to the topic; the Shoujo stuff was pretty good, but I didn't like all the skimpy clothing and really big guns. So I just used the character models, the glasses, and the armor that looked like it should be in a wasteland. Well, I also used the backpacks. But only because the one with the combat knife and the grenades on it because made me giggle. Never mind that it was the worst one. Surviving the wasteland means having a sense of whimsy and irony.
