headbomb
In all the past TES games, there were diseases. E.g., helljoint, which gave you -5 Agility, -5 Speed. How in the world is this going to work in Skyrim? There are no attributes...
VoraNoxstella
Negatives to skills, I would assume. Or just general penalties, like running speed, damage, etc...
bkmorton
Well, the obvious ways are just like how they did in the past, but instead of reducing 8 attributes just reducing the 3 (magicka, stamina, and health). But there are other possibilities, more creative. Because of the new magic/melee systems, there are new types of negative effects. For example, most spells now do not have a preset duration and only cast for as long as you hold the button down, your magicka draining as you do. So a disease could accelerate your magicka drain. Similarly.... There could be a disease that accelerates stamina drain. Other ideas - reduced critical chance- reduced carry weight- reduced damage resistance Etc Edited October 27, 2011 by bkmorton
SterlingRJ
Agreed with Ben. It's easy to figure out as well. Theyd subtract it from either your skills , health, stamina, or magicka.
Adrius2
Hope diseases are a bit harder to cure than just visiting your local chapel... I loved how the Vector mod for Oblivion evolved the disease system... multiple disease stages... having to pay priests for cures... searching rotten bodies was very dumb... :)
PSQGL
I, for once, want the diseases like they were in Daggerfall. You get penalties which get bigger and bigger until you get cured or die.Maybe a chance of "wearing it off" based on Stamina and Health, but when I'm sick I don't want to say "O well, I'll get cured when I feel like it" but "CRAP! MEDIIIIIIC!!"
Rennn
Yeah, but then if you have a disease and you save over your only file a half hour after getting the disease, you might never be able to get a cure in time and ruin your save.

Deleted472477User
Effing diseases, how do they work? I agree with what has been said. Likely penalties to movement, damage, skills, etc.
