Remod in stats!! lol

and my guess is diseases are dying out in Bethesda's attempt to simplify and streamline their game, in Morrowind they ment something, in Oblivion they were an occasional passing thought, my guess is they either don't exist or have extremely minor, odds say even negligable effects...

they should make it to where you dont know that you get diseased, for example your fighting a wolf, you get diseased and nothing pops up saying "you have contracted so and so..." but instead after a while or after you sleep, you get this message that pops up that says "you feel weak, your fatigue/health/magicka have been damaged slightly." after that you can go to a doctor and he can diagnose and cure you, or you will slowly deteriorate even more. The doctor will say you have rockjoint (or whatever disease) then if your fighting a wolf again and contract it again, a message will pop up saying "you have contracted rockjoint." cause you know what it is.

@Alistat: Nope. Guess you'd have to check your stats or something to see that.

I am hoping that diseases actually have a real impact on your gameplay rather than just affecting some minor attribute. That would be ideal considering how Bethesda's distanced themselves from stats somewhat.

The only disease that was actually a bit scary in Oblivion was the one that caused Stunted Magicka, which naturally had a profound impact on your gameplay when you contracted it.

Some examples of Oblivion spells, altered to have more effect on your gameplay:

Rockjoint: Reduced swing speed with weapons.

Red Rage: 25% Increased movement speed, 50% reduced maximum health.

Blood Lung: Your character coughs blood when using up too much fatigue, causing damage.

Bone Break Fever: Your character takes 50% damage from blunt weaponry and enviromental blunt traps.

Chills: Character takes more damage from cold spells, cold weather hurst as well.

Just to name a few.

Hope diseases are a bit harder to cure than just visiting your local chapel...

From what I've heard that's unlikely. The author of the PC Gamer preview cured his vampirism by getting a free heal from some random traveling monks. He claimed he could have removed it with a cure disease potion, but he didn't have any. I'm not sure what he based that assumption on though.
