Mewillow
i asked him several times on facebook for removing my mod, now he think it is becuase of me that he needed to close up his website...sigh...if i got the power do something like that :D :D :D and i don't think he is living in a country that can bypass the law, otherwise his webside wouldn't be closed that quickly. "Thank your warning. We have to stop the website. I hope you will be happy because of this. We will come back and compete like men." Mod Wars: The Thieves Strike Back Dude, you're my hero xD I do wonder though if it was only your influence here, or if someone else also nibbled on their ankles. greentea101
The person behind that website seems like some kind of misguided fan or something. The website's (former) existence doesn't make sense to me, especially since I can't imagine how they could possibly make any money with it. Whether or not seeking to make money, it can't possibly compete for traffic with the Nexus, and doesn't offer anything that the Nexus doesn't. And worse, the mod descriptions, discussions, and author support are gone. And of course, there's the whole stealing thing. Not sure what the person behind the website is thinking. yzerman19
WE HAVE TO COME BACK AND COMPETE LIKE MEN...sounds quite archaic...must be foreigners!
zc123
I informed him as well, got the same replies you did. I then sent him another message informing him that there were hundreds if not thousands of mod authors on the nexus, each of which could sue them individually for theft of content. He sent me another message mocking my previous message. After that I sent him another message that said given how proficient the mod authors are on the nexus are with programming I wonder how hard it would be for them to find someones private and bank info if legal action didn't work. Next thing I know the site comes down. The person behind that website seems like some kind of misguided fan or something. Either a very misguided fan or people who were going to insert malware into the mods. With the right malware there is no counting how many computers they could infect with spyware & ransomware. robhartman9
There are probably millions of gamers who do not speak English and can not navigate the Nexus. Stealing mods and offering them on a site in another language could be lucrative. He probably only removed English language links to his site or English language sites. Good chance he is still continuing where you are unlikely to see your mods being misappropriated.
