So guys, wanted to talk about the guide for a bit :D

Now as you probably know the guide's for any Bethesda game are absolutely invaluable xD

Now yes there a good chance that whatever you need is on the internet of course, but, having an encyclopedia of information right at your side is great.

I love having the guides to now those little tiny details that you wouldn't have found, and having a sure place to go if your REALLY stuck is always a bonus :D.

Now don't get me wrong, im not the type to use the guide for every little thing. I only consult quests when I absolutely need it.The rest of the info is great to know though.

Oh and Pete Hines has tweeted out that the Skyrim Strategy Guide will be a massive 655 pages, o_O if there any SG that's worth buying its this one.

Here's a quote from his twitter "Just got my hands on the first copy of the Skyrim strategy guide. Quite the tome, coming in at 655 pages. As much a weapon as it is a guide"

I've ordered the guide with the game itself(saved 10% of that too :D insignificant most likely but still lol)

So what are your thought on strategy guide, the TES5 one to be more exact. Do you think its worth the extra money? Pre ordered it? Or are you someone that just doesn't like SG''s?

I like the whole wander around premise of the game better than reading a strat guide, however, I have a free strategy guide from gamestop and thats the one Im getting, I mean sure UESP is a right click away, but anything I can do to help Bethesda the better :)

What do you mean Odai? How did you get a free strategy guide from GameStop?

As a personal choice, I'd prefer to wander around and explore as I search for whatever the game throws at me. I don't want to know what's coming.

Same, well kinda, thats why I only use it in an quest line for extreme emergencies, doesn't happen often but well ^^

I generally don't use it very often in my first play through. I tend to let everything seep in before I go into detail. But eventually theirs going to be something I want to know more about. I love details :D

And past the first PT im at the knowledge point where I know quite a bit but, as in and Bethesda game there ALWAYS going to be something you dont know about. The guide are nice in that they give great insight into things that you didn't know about.

I do believe consulting the quest lines would destroy the fun of the game. So I just don't use that par t^^

Me personally I like exploring the world myself, but I already paid for the CE, and I wanted everything for Skyrim I could get (Posters and teeshirts too) So I got the guide. It will make a nice thing to flip through after I play through the game, and while I am too. Do me its more of a treasured keepsake like the art book and statue. Just more things for Skyrim the better :)

Like I said, I dont nessecarilly plan to have my face glued to it.."cheating" But if Im gonna fork out that much, I want it all. I have Oblivions too..and I think I used it once. Its more to me for like to look over and see what weapon is best etc. Mine will be put on my shelf next to my dragon and my artbook :)

I got Oblivion's and I did use it a more often after I beat the game. But regardless as bkmorton put it, it ruins the game if you just read the thing all the time. I use it as an encyclopedia of info on items and such but to read ahead of everything you do breaks the point of the game, the open world any the exportability. :)

I can guarantee you I wont have my face glued to it. Its there when I need it.

If you are stuck, you will ALWAYS find an answer on the wiki. Otherwise, i'd say it's better to discover things yourself, rather than read what, where and why and then go "discover" it.
