I guess many of you have seen the
.
Dunno for you, but I loved the idea! I refuse to believe that I am the only one who thinks that books in TES series are very injustly marginated and postponed! Well, the thing is that I wanna bring it up on a next level.
And guys and gals I ask for your help
, just with a simple suggestions how in a technical way
.Just that you know that I mean business, take a look at sorts of images I'm planning to make books with:

I graduated on the Art Academy, and I am really looking forward to creating books and even comics for Oblivion and Skyrim. Besides those illustrations that have the medieval-ish appeal, I'm planning to create illustrated books with children fairytales, and the tails for adult (I dont mean pornography - I mean with more serious themes that are not for children mind). I've posted my 1st book here so that someone can test it. Since I got no reply, and I dont know anyone in my small country that does mods for Oblivion... I am stuck.

So, finally, can someone point me in direction how to properly create a book from front cover - over content - towards the back cover?

- I figured how to type and change font types and add illuminated fonts

- I haven't figured out how to save a .DDS page illustration so that it is transparent over the vanilla book paper texture

- I haven't figured how to create a book cover

That's it. I ask for help for only those 2 things. If someone from your experienced modders would like to point me in the right direction I can send you my skype, msn, email, whatever contact you need so that I can start contributing to these awesome games.

Cheers everyone!

p.s. srry for my pigeon english, its not my mother tongue... :whistling:

one more thing, so that I dont need to edit later;

Im already thinking about doing colabs with the TES Community - e.g. I decide to create a book of poems based on the TES series. What stops me for gathering the best poems that the fan community have to offer and put it into a single illustrated book of peoms? Do you feel me now?

Wow, really great ideas!

I myself have been adding some simple pictures to some of the already extant books in Oblivion as part of my immersion overhaul, Vanilla Drops.

I got around the background problem by making the background the page texture... but then I realized that there are some background replacers out there that would make it look very bad :psyduck:

If you ever complete this would you give permission for me to include some of your work in my immersion mod? Full credit of course.

Right now all I've done is prepped some images for Vampire books and a few images for a journal by Mannimarco I am making.

Thank you! :)

Yeah, I thought of trying that but I figured that the paper texture of my DDS background will afterall show as some slightly noticable graphic mistakes in the corners of the illustration in the book ingame. So, are you saying that it is possible to do it like that?

Sure, it will be my pleasure! :)

- I haven't figured out how to save a .DDS page illustration so that it is transparent over the vanilla book paper texture

In order to do that, follow these steps:

1. Put your image on a background that has no color in common with your image.

2. Add an Alpha Channel to the image. (How you do this depends on what program you're using to edit .DDS files. Use Google to find a plugin, if necessary.)

3. Delete the background color, then save your image.

Once you've done that, your image should display as desired on the book page.
