Moore and Franken

Tater

I agree with Wesay and The Dead Tree on this one. While I think that both Moore and Franken are amusing, they are humorists whose job it is to satirize the current political atmosphere. What good are we if we can't laugh at ourselves?

Wesay is also right concerning consitutionally protect rights of free speech. Tater, would you have those rights revoked? Would you like to have book burnings and witch hunts every third Tuesday of the month?

Think carefully about the political heritage that was created for your benefit. A couple of comedians are not going to bring down two centuries of political history, but they are protected by the same laws that protect your right to argue that they be burned at the stake.

(If you couldn't tell, this is sarcasm)

No, really?

Hmm, let's see, the position put forward is that certain books should be burnt because they 'threaten' a country founded on the concept of freedom and liberty.

Anyone else see the irony in this?

Im glad you agree with me Peregrine

I'm glad your mind is working so poorly that you took even one word of that seriously. Free speech is a fundamental right in this country, especially the right to criticize the government. Communist or not, they have a right to publish their opinions.

And honestly, I think you're an idiot if you really believe a few books are going to be the end of this country. Political criticism has existed for as long as the US has, and we're still around. So stop reading conspiracy websites for your "facts" and come back to reality.
