Deleted1790188User
Sorry to make another topic, but I've run into an entirely different issue and I'm wondering if there's a fix, beyond deactivating the mod. When walking around Concord with Beantown Interiors 5.1 active in my mods, I frequently hit thresholds that make the game freeze up and a little loading symbol show in the corner. I haven't been far outside Concord, but this doesn't happen in Sanctuary or the surrounding area. It makes walking around Concord difficult, as every few steps I'm freezing up so the game can load, then continue. Does anyone have similar issues, and is there a fix for this? I know the Beantown Interiors mod was taken down because of theft, so if it's best to wait I may just stop using it entirely until it returns if it does, but I do enjoy it a lot so I wanted to check if there's some solution to this. I'm not sure if it's a mod compatibility issue or what it could be, but I narrowed it down to Beantown Interiors being active or not as the cause. Like I said, if it's common courtesy or if the mod author wishes it I'll just turn it off entirely, but I wanted to see if there's some sort of fix, if it would be okay for me to keep using it. I've tried moving it up and down in the load order, but no dice. Thanks for any help! tartarsauce2
beantown interiors is memory intensive I think, similar to open cities and whiterun for skyrimthere's a lot to loadoverload is the watchword of the day for these kinds of things
Deleted1790188User
It seems weird that it's only happening in Concord, though - wouldn't it occur occasionally even in other places where there's a lot to load? I've never had the issue, and I think my setup is pretty decent. I'm not sure where else the mod edits and I can't check with it being taken down, but I tried running around both Lexington and Scollay Square areas, and didn't find the same issue in either place. I tried it with all the graphics on lowest to see if it would help, but nope, still happened at those same junctions - for example, right next to the blue vehicle on the street across from the church, or right before the main street leading to the museum. Good to know it's memory intensive, though, as that could definitely be the issue - I just don't understand why it never occurs elsewhere. Thanks for the help and, if it makes a difference, this is my setup. tartarsauce2
concord is basically what the guy who's making beantown interiors started with so that's the one that he did and was finished with first, and it was pretty jam packed with clutter etc, it was well placed etc but it WAS kind of laggy he mentioned Edited June 11, 2016 by tartarsauce2
chucksteel
it doesn't really impact performance for me on my potato but, I'm not using very many other mods or texture packs.
Deleted1790188User
See, that's what confuses me - I don't think it's a memory or performance issue. I run lots of mods fine otherwise on high settings, and even with every mod except Beantown Interiors deactivated and graphics at lowest, the weird load issue occurs. To describe it better, at certain set points when I walk into them, the screen freezes and turns sort of pixelized looking, the little circular loading icon spins in the corner for several seconds, then it goes back to normal. The set points are pretty close together, all around Concord. It seems like my best bet might be to just deactivate the mod for now until Bethesda gets its act together to fix the thievery going on so mods can safely go back up, and to try and older or newer version. I do love the mod's work so far, though, so I hope it gets the credit it deserves soon. Best of luck with it, Chucksteel, and thanks!
tartarsauce2
it could also be a mod conflict, I nuked my entire thing because I hadn't even paid attention to what conflicts or loops or whatever that jargon is before I went on a "this mod looks like it's pretty I'm going to add it" spreeI didn't even know there was a limitation to how many mods or that it would slow down loading timesbut I'll say that the creator of the mod mentioned memory eating as an issue if I remember correctly on his mod page that is currently hidden - so I'm just going by memory here, which is why I'm mentioning itso what I did to fix it(and a lot of other problems so this solution isn't necessarily what you want to do because you don't have a tangled web that is a mod folder like I do) was nuke my mods folder, and then start from scratch and it's much better, unfortunately because it was such a mess that I couldn't single anything out, this means I'm unable to give an exact account of whydo you happen to have anything that might affect concord other than beantown interiors?I overheard in a discussion yesterday that this mod had problems galore with people CTD'ing due to memory overload etc, and it does something sort similar to beantown interiors in a way"specifically how most of the cities were a natural part of the world and you could just walk in without loading screens."http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/8058/?go to this section in the thing, and it'll explain how the issues work, there might be something related, it won't fix the issue for you necessarily because it's all for skyrim not fallout 4, but it'll give some context to what might be going on even if the things aren't conflicts with other mods related - note the memory issue, sometimes it's about how memory is managed, not total memory"Help! I'm experiencing Infinite Load Screens (ILS) and/or Crashes to Desktop (CTD)!!!" Edited June 12, 2016 by tartarsauce2
chucksteel
I created Beantown and I never said it had memory issues. I've always stated as i did above that "I don't see a performance drop on my potato of a rig that I'm playing it on or building it with" Again I run very few other mods and no texture packs so experience may very. Edit Also many of the video reviews of my mod have also mentioned that they were surprised at how little the mod affected the games performance. If I sound hostile I'm sorry and is not my intent I just wanted to clarify what I have said. Edited June 12, 2016 by chucksteel
Deleted1790188User
See, I thought it was weird that it would be causing weirdness with loading. I'm more inclined to think maybe something got corrupted in my download at this point, especially if nobody else is encountering this trouble. Either way, I'll just wait until Bethesda ends the thievery so modding can safely get back to normal without worry about that. It's more important that modders get proper credit and have control of their work than anything else for now.
