Heh i know of that... But why EST and PST isnt UTC/GMT used world wide? AFAIK its used a lot here in Europe and in the USA too... EDIT: Pacific and easter dont mean a thing to mean then i still dont know whats meant... I got taught UTC/GMT So... :/ Oh well... If someone can give me the UTC/GMT +1 Estimate its fine just 12:01AM ... yeah how much - or +? Edited by marabunta5

Your mentioning of UTC is basically the first time in a very long time that I've heard of it. And no, UTC obviously isn't used worldwide...from what I understand, UTC is just a "successor" of Greenwich Mean Time/GMT. My timezone, MST, is still offset by -7 hours, just like it is with GMT. I'm not sure which of us two are more confused now haha. :P Edited by natelovesyou

Hah yeah... Man if they would just pick ONE timezone for the wholeworld (still using the +/- offsets ) it would save a lot of confusion IMHO and UTC... my computer mentions itso... i personaly am used to GMT... But to the main topic 12:01AM doesnt tell me anything is it based of the +0 estimate? I would ask Pete Hines but i refuse using Tweeter... or how is it called? And just making an Account for.. well one message.. doesnt that seem a bit... I dunno stupid?

I'm getting day one delivery so I'll be getting it around 5pm anyways .. even if it did unlock at 7pm thats no reason for people to be upset ^_^ .. we waited this long .. whats a few hours? .. when you really think about it .. the reviewer copies are out and a few industry insiders have reported getting their early copies already .. so there are anywhere between 20-100 people in the world playing it right now as we speak lols

Why don't you just click the google link? It gives you the info you need, it's a google search for PST/EST. During daylight savings time, Pacific Standard time (areas like California) is UTC -7 and Eastern Standard Time (i.e. New York) is UTC -4. During non-daylight savings, they're UTC -8 and -5.

Edit: A simple google search would have clarified this though, I find it rather annoying when people are using the internet, but don't want to utilize it if you know what I mean.

I guess differ folks differ experiences. I've heard UTC used quite often over the years of my life, however I've been began to become

active as a SWL (Short Wave Listener) back in the 80's and branched into Ham radio. UTC is not uncommon in my experience.

For some reason the entire time zone thing and the daylight /standard time thing are beyond MANY peoples knowledge base. It is a never ending surprise to me. I get bugged

when people post meeting times in the middle of winter as 'Guild meet at 8pm PDT" when the proper form would be PST or just PT. SHrug.

Interesting history of how the UTC was named. It is a mish. Lower down in the page link above.

It's mostly about politics, from what I can delve. GMT works for me as does Zulu time which is far cooler. huck.

I used the link... >.> Im just not that... "quick"minded Depression does that to people... Heh... BTW all i get is Time converters from your link... And seriously im not a fan of the American way of doing things... everything seems to need its own name its own thing over there... But i guess just thats how things are.. Just have it accept it? mm? But know im TRYING to understand... People never just seem to have enough patience for that... But i wont go further in that It just brings flamebait and hate... *Sigh* I do think i have a small idea of when it releases precisely... for me Steam releases it in 1 Week 4 days and 12 Hours.... But! Im done i have a clear idea of when it supposedly releases... I'll also just see it on the day itself... I never had problems with activating games on the day of Release so i think im fine...

Oh, I rambled so far in my prior post I forgot to mention this tidbit.

No matter what 'that guy' says in his blog, Steam shows its countdown clock here to indicate the game will

go live for registration at 2am Central . My countdown clock show's no deviation from that. Unless Steam changes something

everything does point to 12 midnight Pacific time.

Not 12 midnight 'wherever you are is midnight time". It would be a mess for them to try to do that.

I suppose America does do that, but I think since we're such a large country we get more attention and "recognition" for that. You'd be surprised about how many places in the world "do their own thing" too, though I personally agree with you. I don't know why we have to do the stupid daylight savings time, or to use Imperial (inches, miles) instead of Metric. It's so much better than Imperial.

And we are getting sidetracked.... :P DST... god some countries threw it away! I dont know wich but they only use "Summertime" winter time is the correct one though :/ (The one where the clocks go an hour "back") Anyways im ready for 11.11.11... wish i could sleep the days away.
