Sauron is the best, even if he only appears for 30 seconds in the first movie. Even before the movies came out, I though Sauron was the greatest, I spent three (or was it two?) years wondering if Sauron would look cool in the movie, I am really glad he did. The Fellowship of the Ring movie really increased my liking of him.

I always have a soft spot for the bad guys, Darth Vader being my alltime favorite.

If I have to choose one of the options given, I would say Aragorn, but when he was better known as Strider. The misterious aura about him was cool, I was disapointed when it was revealed that he is a very important person (royalty no less).

Funny nobody likes the most important character of the Fellowship, Frodo. Well, I don't like him, he is a wuss (slang for a person who is weak of mind and body, also used to describe a coward).

Off Topic:

Is there a book where I can get more information, and some character developement, about Sauron? Please PM me so we do not get acused of thread hijacking.

Oh yeah! I was looking for Jawa...How could I forget? I'm more of a star WArs junkie than an LOTR junkie.....I uploaded the imperial deathmarch onto my pc from the soundtrack and listened to it 4 four hours straight.......I also know that Boba Fett survived the Sarlacc..as well as all sorts of useless info (such as the names of Han and Leia's kids)...HOW COULD I FORGET? Oh, yeah, anyway....... HE still looks like a JAwa.... :nazgul:

NOt the actual Nazgul, just the smilie (except for the baggins part.) Yeah, the Head of the Nazgul owns. DO they actually call him the Witch King in the book? I cannot remeber...

btw Curt what is your sig from?

I have to admit that the poll is skewed in favor of the male characters. I believe Arwen and Eowyn should at least have been considered.......

Be that as it may, my favorite characters in LOTR are Aragorn and Tom Bombadil & Goldberry. Sadly, the latter did not make the theatrical version. It's not too often that people run into Father Time & Mother Nature while journeying to Rivendell! ^_^

Aragorn is my favorite because of his depth of character. He's quick to laugh with the hobbits, debate with the Elves, and toss a dwarf into battle. You can perceive his nobility in his bearing and demeanor when he is the leader of the Dunedain, but his true mettle is shown when he assumes the mantle of kingship and takes over the leadership of the Gondorian army. He knows he's going to fight a hopeless battle, but does it anyway to give the remains of the Fellowship a better chance of succeeding - that takes courage and leadership.

It's interesting to note that in the ROTK movie it is Aragorn, not Gandalf, who always believes that Frodo and Sam are going to succeed. I liked that PJ directed it that way.

Though he isn't all to well discribed i'dd pick Erkenbrand, lord of Helmsdeep fortress wich comes storming down a hill with Gandalf and lots of Rohirrim.

Erkenbrand: Grumbl, why didn't Peter Jackson pick me, after all Éomer should be in Helmsdeep when battle begun and it was me who came to rescue those fellas in my fortress. Same shame that happened to Glorfindel in the first movie, stupid Arwen taking up his place. :veryangry:
