TroloWiseEared
I think the topic we should be discussing is not how bad A.I. currently is, but how WE as Moders could improve them.In direct combat Atleast.-The Scenario:Escort mission:Map Layout:Cloud Ruler Temple6 Guards. 2 mages/2 archers/2 WarriorsYour companions:An archer and an unarmed V.I.P. (Escort)There ARE traps & Destructable Environments-You must get the V.I.P. into The main Hall.-------Things like Equipment/Difficulty/and Mapping are up to you- design it how you like, but show us what tricks you would implement to make NPC A.I. more intelligent. GO.

jedimembrain
This topic confuses me .. I don't get what your trying to say at all .. the title is "A.I. Intelligence in YOUR HANDS" .. but what you seem to have done is just write up a level scenario.. What does this have to do with AI exactly?... your not talking about raytracing the environment and how the AI will navigate in combat .. or even conversation AI .. this is just a mission idea. Are we to post mission ideas? .. maybe a title change is in order.. Edited October 31, 2011 by jedimembrain
ZainHallows
well I would start with my zappy gun, then use it to zap the badies! there done! no but really, not a modder xD wish I was tho!~
xaliqen
Well, presumably, none of us have the game at this point. So, isn't this a bit speculative?
THEbloodymary777
mod is set up and ready to go...but first let me explain the equiipment i used for myself i used the rusty iron s*** armor and weapon for my companion archer he has a steel bow will steel arrows he is lvl 5 i am playing on 75% difficult cuz 50 is too easy and 100 too hard at low lvls....the mods i used is fatigue loss when running and this affects NPCs as well as me...i have 1 health potion with the basic starter spells...the VIP has the emporers clothing and does not fight but rather has that animation where he ducks and screams in place lol....traps are set up along the path to cloud ruler temple from Bruma...the 1st group of enemies u encounter is 1 archer and 1 warrior...ez pz lol...then warrior mage....last is tyhe hardest is archer and mage 2 ranged lol...my VIP will stop if i get too far behind or in combat otherwise will not stop making him activate some of the traps along the way while in combat with me...i also have routes he will take to run away a.k.a i failed lol so if he is hit once by an enemy attack he will take that route back to bruma...the enemys are vls 3-5 vary on each group 1 = 3 2=4 3=5 harder the higher you go...the warriors have normal iron armor and weapons otherwise might be OP lol mages have frost fire and lightning spells i dont know which one they will use...the archers have leather with iron bows...well here i go wish me luck lol  Edited October 31, 2011 by THEbloodymary777
natelovesyou
I'm not feeling very creative right now, but what would make a lot of sense is a cover system. I don't mean one like in Mass Effect or Gears of War, but of course one that would feel right in Skyrim. Archers and thieves have to take cover all the time... barrels and crates are often the perfect height, and the ability to look around the corner would make things more realistic and fun. And barrels and crates can be destroyed by you or enemies, that would be cool.

Are we to post mission ideas? .. maybe a title change is in order..The scenario i described was just ment to be a visual playground for ideas, and a way to compare relatable Ideas. This is coming from another thread about the lack of challenge you find in A.I. intelligence.Things like Pathing to Poor Weapon choices, & easy ways to fool NPCS.Skyrim has touched on this with the revamped combat & most notably Coding Npcs to actively Flank you in combat.-What i am asking, is for you to share concepts and ideas as to what could be coded to make npcs deadlier in combat without touching upon statistics.-A mudcrab's fighting style is parrallel to an ogres, i want to see you change that
natelovesyou
A.I. = Artificial IntelligenceA.I. Intelligence = Artificial Intelligence Intelligence You can either call it AI, A.I., or spell it out. ;) Just not A.I. Intelligence.
