Gaming program

The Creation Kit that they will be sharing with us IS what they used to make the game, plus a bunch of other stuff you may or may not have access to (such as Havok Behavior).

The Creation Engine/Kit is only the engine that they use to compile all the other content that they created for the game. If you are talking about art assets (Character models, textures, environments) they likely used either Maya or 3DsMax for modeling, Zbrush for high-poly detailing and some texturing, and Photoshop for most texturing work.

Bethesda also has some contract work done for some of the crucial, but less well known aspects of the game. In particular, there's a group in Salem that they usually go to for all of the deep coding architecture that Ensouls all of the NPCs using some kind of Necro-thaumurgics. From there, the code to establish the proper Magicka resonance to Soul gem harmonics is pretty straight forward. They might even include some of this stuff in the Creation Construction Kit. I'm pretty sure I heard Todd Howard say that that would be the case in an interview.

What programs did beth use for skyrim and could I get them somehow..i wanna be game deskgner for them and need to learn the programs

Thats great! Its good to see people taking an intrest in programming and game development.

Ok here is what you need to know about game development. If you want to eventually start designing video game you need to learn how to write programs. Programs are written using programming languages such as java, python, ect. Most game developers currently are using c++, so if you want a future as a game developer learning c++ would be a great place to start. People who develop independant games for the xbox360 use the xbla development kit. I'm not really familar with the kit but if you intrested thats something you could check out. Also, most software/game development companies require a Bacholer's Degree or equivalent to start working for them.

If that all sounds like too much to handle right now an easier start out would be to just start making mods for Beth's game. The tools for making mods are included with the game if I'm not mistaken. Making mods could help you get a feel for video game design.

Below is an interview by Todd Howard where he explains how he got involved in the industry. :D

People use the term 'game designer' far too broadly.

If you want to get a job as a scripter/code builder, that is solid advice. If you want to get a job building art assets, then you would follow something closer to what I posted. If you want to be an animator, then you learn to use the animation suites included in Maya or 3dsMax, or Autodesk Motionbuilder. If this is something you are serious about, its important to realize that there is no 'jack-of-all-trades' in modern game development. Pick something you are interested in and learn to do it as well as you can.

Pretty much this.

I'm personally going for Sound Design and Music Composing. While I won't get to have all the fun of "world-building", and trust me I love some world-building, sound design/music making is still something I love to do. Kind of have to go with one thing and stick with it when it comes to getting into the gaming industry.

Good choice. Sound guys can get paid very well and good ones are in short supply. Good luck! I am focusing on environmental props/assets and texturing myself. In a perfect world Id just paint textures all day. I am actually in the process of getting my demo reel together for this spring to ship off to some studios. Hopefully Bethesda will be looking for environment artists for Fallout 4 at that point......

Lol I assumed he ment a scripter or code builder. A 'game designer' is technically someone who designs what a game is and how it works. So if he wants to be a 'game designer' it would be more helpful to start learning code. I honestly only do code and have no real experience in anything related to animation so my mind always goes there.
