Imperial Jail Cell Door

I'm sorry for asking for such a pointless mod and I don't even know if it'll work, but I'm getting desperate...

The jail door for The Bastion in the Imperial City refuses to unlock, even using the console, so I was wondering if somebody could create a new gate to replace the bugged one or an alternative way out of the jail cell, possibly a hidden door into the jail cell next to it?

I've looked everywhere for a solution, but nothing works, so hopefully I can mod my way to freedom!

All I ask is that it remains as immersive as possible. =)

Thanks to anybody who helps. =)

Everywhere but google right?

According to UESPWiki (First search result):

The Bastion is a tower in the Imperial City Prison District that houses the city's jail.

There are two ways to enter the Bastion. One is through the front door, the other is through the locked door in the back. Inside is the Jailor, the Evidence chest, a ladder leading to the barracks, and two gates leading to separate parts of the prison. The door to the West leads to the area housing Valen Dreth (where you start the game off), while the Eastern section houses Claudius Arcadia, and is where you end up should you commit any crimes.J'baana, the Master Security Trainer is found behind the Bastion, accessible only by the locked door inside, or the locked gates outside.

The door is most likely bugged by a mod you have installed. Otherwise, via vanilla it should by all means work. Check for mods that edit that area that you have installed. Should be a really simple fix.

Go ingame, open the console, click on the door that's bugged for you, write down the refID, exit the game, fire up TES4Edit, and search for that refID you wrote down. See which mods modify it, and make a note of them. Then, find its base object (the refID's info will say something like "places xxxxxxxx" which the xxxxxxxx is the form ID of the base object - just shift-click (I think) that and it'll take you to that object. Find which mods modify the base object. Then, look at the two objects, and which mods do what to them, to find the culprit.

@kingtitan,

My apologies, I have not explained myself clearly, after being arrested and placed into the jail cell the prison door won't open and it's a single entrance room, so none of that other information helps me. I agree that it is pretty much definitely a mod problem, but I haven't been able to find a fix for it so I thought I'd just get a work-around. =P

@Deadlykris

Thank you very much for the detailed walkthrough! I'll go do that now.

EDIT: Okay,I found out the mod that was causing the problem[Reneer's Guard Overhaul]. Quite sad, though.. I like that mod. )'= Thanks for your help everyone.
