Valox4182
Well I don't know if this has already been posted but.... http://www.gamezone.com/news/players-will-be-able-to-preload-skyrim-on-steam Although my internet connection is super fast, I know other people have very slow download times on steam...Good news for those people is you can preload Skyrim off steam a few days before reloease, so once it does comes out you are good to go and get straight to slaying DRAGONS!!!! Halororor
A pity those of us who go retail don't have an option like this. Would be nice if I could get my game, simply insert the cd key and start playing immediately.
nofear88
Thats exactly how I prefer it without the stupid online activation tedious process which also takes hours to download useless or otherwise info when all the stuff should be on the disc itself. jedimembrain
preloading allows it to be instantly accessed at 12am .. so download time means nothing .. but really it all means nothing to me .. I will get the game around 5pm 11,11,11 and it will take me maybe 10mins to install .. and I'm alright with that

After you pre-load a game, then you have to wait an hour+ for Steam to decrypt the game files

They are encrypted with something fierce, and most critical parts are missing (for example, the .exe to actually run the game.) But enough on that. Lets avoid any talk on that subject. So don't know where you got an hour +. I love steam pre-loads as soon at the clock hits the release date I just press install and 10mins later I'm already playing the game. Lanceor
Unfortunately, I pre-ordered the Collectors Edition. Since the Collectors Edition is not available in my country, I had to pre-order it from a US website and once it is released, they will presumably airmail it to me. So I have a week to wait after you guys all start playing it. :(
