GreekIrish
Does anyone know if it will be possible to dual wield shields? Demon Souls style? If you can put anything in each hand like they keep saying, couldn't you equip two shields?

AnnieFrell
Does anyone know if it will be possible to dual wield shields? Demon Souls style? If you can put anything in each hand like they keep saying, couldn't you equip two shields? You cannot:Pete Hines = https://twitter.com/#%21/DCDeacon/status/101932521834553344 Other Pete Hines Twitter answers associated with Blocking: Q: What makes dual wielding 2 swords without blocking viable in the game since 2 handed swords can block? Any advantages?A: You get to power attack with either weapon AND the ability to do a combined power attack using both weapons at once.https://twitter.com/#%21/DCDeacon/status/109252445636538368 Q: Can you confirm we can bash with weapons, which can then stagger if timed right? Keep up the good workA: You can bash with a two-handed weapon. You can't block with a one-handed weapon in your left hand, only attack.https://twitter.com/#%21/DCDeacon/status/109332295231602688 Q: Also, does tapping LT block with a 2 hander and holding LT bashes? Thanks!A: Holding LT blocks w/ a shield, torch, or two handed weapon. Holding LT and then hitting RT does a bash.https://twitter.com/#%21/DCDeacon/status/109335537281810433 Q: Do you still take damage from blocking? And are they damaged when you block with a torch?A: Yes, you reduce the damage but you still take some. Increased skill/perks futher reduces the damage you take.https://twitter.com/#%21/DCDeacon/status/109332387846029312 Q: Still wondering about dual wield blocking. It seems VERY silly to not allow the player to block or parry while using two weapons.A: can only do one thing when you pull trigger: block or attack. That's the tradeoff. You don't get the best of all worldshttps://twitter.com/#%21/DCDeacon/status/102825642957090816

justwannaddl
I can understand wanting to use 2 shields if it were still possible to cast spells while holding them but under the current system, it just seems silly. The devs were probably worried the combo would show up as a glitch while fighting NPCs if they implemented it. The humor in encountering a turtle would quickly turn to frustration as players find themslves wailing away at them to less than satisfying effect for a good chunk of time.
