How can a argonian/orc be a dragonborn? -_-

Talos was infact one of the Last Atmorans to sail from Atmora, this would infact make him a Nede or one of the last proto-Nords. He then went on various conflicts over the years between the elves across tamriel until Talos got a bunch of forces together and somehow founded the Empire.

i need to brush up on my history byt Talos Stormcrown founded the Empire which he then named himself Tiber Septim also so he could fit into the majority of Imperials who he had been the majirty amonst in Cyrodiil.

Nedes were the people who were settled in Tamriel when the nords arrived, proto-imperials. Hjalti Early-beard (a very nordic name) was supposedly born in Breton. I don't think that means he was breton but he referred to himself as 'born of the north' that could mean Atmoran but I consider that unlikely, it does however strongly suggest a nordic descent. Mechanically the dragonborn can be any race, and the official line is that he is directly blessed by Akatosh, like Alessia was (an imperial) and therefore bypasses racial limitations but the Voice is a strictly nord ability. I don't think it's racist for the OP to question the plausibility of a non-nord dragonborn. It's a good question. Remember that Bethesda's default choice for the dragonborn is a nord.

Your character is gifted with the Dragonblood by Akatosh, so the dragonborn is chosen by the head of the gods in Tamriel. Any member of any race could be chosen, it just so happens that the player's character happens to be fate's tool whether they want it or not.

And for the record, "The Dunmer is the most perfect form to ever sanctify the surface of Tamriel with the imprint of its foot!" ;D We all know how humble and sociable the Dark Elves can be.

LMFAO I just laughed out loud. This is amazing.

No but still, I was just thinking about it. An argonian dragonborn? It's like having a iranian president in America. ( no racism, I'm muslim myself ).

I mean sure they couldnt force you to be a nord, but it's still a fact I think. Dragonborn should be a nord. And not a blue argonian http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/biggrin.gif

I was a Redguard Nevevarine, but I didn't hear anybody complaining then.

Being a Dragonborn has nothing to do with race. Just because the game takes place in Skyrim doesn't mean being Dragonborn is immediately affiliated with the Nords.

This thread is racist to the two best races in ES.

Using your logic, how could a Redguard, High Elf, Dark Elf, Wood Elf, Imperial, or Khajiit be a Dragonborn?

It's your character, it doesn't have to be a Nord. Tiber Septim was a Dragonborn and he was an Imperial.

I thought Tiber Septim was a Nord, who started the Empire. Wasn't his pre-Imperial name Hjalti Early-Beard? He could use the voice, which would make him a Nord.

1. His name was Talos of Atmora and the only people who came from Atmora were Atmorans/Nords, so i'm pretty sure he was a Nord.

2. During the war he was known as General Talos. He had to change his name to Tiber Septim to appease the fancy Imperials. An innkeeper in Skyrim said that Tiber Septim had many names and Hjalti Early-Beard MIGHT have been one of them.

3. The Dragonborn's Voice was a blessing from Akatosh (The God of Time). He/She/Shglee saw who would be in the right place at the right time and gave them the means to succeed. do you really think that Akatosh (the almighty dragon god who exists both outside and IS time itself) cares whether the dragonborn is Nordic or Khajiiti or Orsimer?

Akatosh gave the gift of being born with Dragonblod and Thuum to all mortals, regardless of race my friend.

I also cannot belive people discuss racist about fictional races .. In a game that represents medieval law, as if it mattered back then?

short answer: they can't

why do you guys think the previous games started with the race of the province you were in:

oblivion (cyrodil) start as imperial (as first choice of races)

morrowind: same thing, only dark elf

for skyrim, same thing, your first choice in the character selection is a nord, ergo, the hero of this game is a nord.

this would probably explain why I stopped playing five minutes as a dark elf, Breton, and even high elf. highly doubt khajiit and argonian will be any different.

the only other PLAUSABLE race is imperial, but again this is really pushing it: the imperial rulers of the third era up to uriel were all dragonborn,

lore wise you can argue that imperial race came from nords at some point.

tiber septim was a nord, but married an imperial and had imperial children is the only reason why they were dragonborn

so again, nord would be the only dragonborn race, no matter how you plan to play (evil, good guy, thief), you want to be as close to lore as possible, be nord.

It's just a suggestion. You can rewrite the story any way you want.

There's a symmetry to a Nord Dragonborn, especially with the rebirth of the Aldmeri Dominion, but you can make up your own story and be anything you want.

My Lizardborn battled several dozen Pokemon to evolve into the Dragonborn. See? I just made up my own story that only works for an Argonian. Humans can only be trainers; they can't evolve like Pokemon can.

It's an open-world sandbox game. Lighten up a little.
