Where do you buy your clothes and shoes

Well, i live in South Africa, so it's probably not relevant to your situation, but I buy at a myriad of places. When shopping for name brands I usually do so at Edgars, as they have a decent selection. Surfshops have the widest selection, but you can feel yourself getting shafted the moment you set foot in those stores.

I rarely buy namebrands, though. Way overpriced for something that's not really worth it. More often I'll buy at shops like Mr Price, or JayJays, as their clothes are cheaper, and unlike namebrands, they actually keep up with current styles and trends.

As for shoes, I don't buy that often. I'll buy myself a pair of decent sneakers which lasts about 6 months to a year before they need to be replaced, but I rarely wear them, as I prefer Chuck Taylors for casual wear. They might be bad for your feet, but I always ensure I have at least two pairs of Chuck Taylors, one standard black pair, and one brightly colored pair. :P In summer, I simply go barefoot.

Edgars is pretty much a name brand store dear ... Outback Red, Charter Club, Guess, Levi's, Calvin Klein, my personal favorites are Sissy Boy jeans (stupidly expensive), wrangler etc.,.

Also Truworths, Milady's, Foshini, Exact, Foxy, Cameroon, Hilton weiner, Hydraulics, Kabanga, Old Khaki, Rage, Queenspark need i go on, yes just one more, Stuttafords (even if it's 75% off you're still paying a couple of hundred bucks, rather go directly to the factory shops that bring the stuff in ... I get a 100 to 150 bucks off a pair of levi's when I go direct ... same same with Nike's etc.

Don't waste your time with Meltz, they started off good by bringing in brilliant brand names for next to nothing, now they bring in cheap chinese rubbish that gets you sick ... really.

Mr Price is ok if you're looking for T-shirts but that's where it ends for me ...

Oh and of course g-strings but I don't care too much for flossing lol.

I buy my clothes in a second-hand shop, last week I bought a leather jacket for aproximately 6 pounds.

I forgot how many clothes I've found at the thrift store in town. I actually have better luck finding clothes there than I do at regular shops.

I'm mostly a jeans and t-shirt kinda gal, but I will wear skirts, dresses, stockings, etc. But man...women's jeans. The selection is just horrendous. I just want a simple pair of boot cut jeans...not something that's pre-destroyed, covered in sequins, or has some lame design on the butt pockets. When I do find a pair that doesn't have that crap, they are either "granny jeans" (goes up to your natural waist) or skinny jeans (my legs and body aren't built for those). And I just hate trying clothes on...I'm a size 8US in one type, 10 in another, has even gone up to a fricking 18....*sigh* I know it's all on how the designer makes them...but I swear they should just make women's jeans like men's sizes (waist and inseam). I'll find a pair of jeans that are 10 Long (according to my height, I should wear long) and they are too long...so I go and try the Average size and they are too short. I should just sew my own...but it's more expensive to make clothes yourself than to buy them now...wasn't like that 10 or so years ago.

As far as shoes...I go to Rogan's Shoes. It's a local chain around Northeast Wisconsin. They have a really good selection...I got a pair of nice winter boots for $40 and my bf got his Chucks for $20 (buy one get one half off).

I don't like to spend a ton on clothes...but I've learned that if you do buy cheap, they do fall apart more quickly. But still, I find no justification for spending more than $30 on a pair of jeans...especially when their your main clothing staple. I will spend more on something special...like a nice "going out" outfit or a good leather jacket.

I shop at Hot Topic and Rue21 mostly, as they're some of the only stores that carry a jeans size as small as mine that fits properly (aka, tightly :S). I mostly wear skinny jeans and loose-fitting tees or fitted tank tops with a hoodie because I've got next to no ability to retain heat. As for shoes, I'll buy from whatever store has the right kinda Converse :P Last time, I went to Journey's at some mall and bought knee-high Converse, only to find that my shoe size happened to have large calves on the shoes, so they don't fit tightly at all >.< I've got one of those lanky, awkward-looking bodies that looks like it belongs on some lolita anime character, lol.

@Illiad86 I never bought a piece of clothing more expensive than 30$, the most expensive thing I have are my shoes (30$), they are high quality leather shoes reinforced with steel implants.

Here in croatia you can hire a taylor to make you jeans that fit you perfectly for 15-20$ so prices on clothes are pretty low.

if you really need something to fit i would recommend a tailor to make you some

Yeah, if we even had a tailor in town :( Seems to be a lost art. I do know how to hem jeans (I've hemmed nearly all the jeans I own because of what I said in my previous post) and re-fit t-shirts at least. I wish my boyfriend's grandmother was still around, he would tell me how she would make all of her husband's clothes. She would make button-up shirts, jackets, jeans, anything you could think of. She could of taught me so much.

I'm just more annoyed with the styles that are out. My tastes are simple...and no one seems to be doing that. I can finally wear cuter clothes (used to be a bit heavy, low self-esteem) and they are too "cute" so to say. Too much crap all over them lol. I don't want my bum covered in glitter :P My boyfriend doesn't care for it either...he's as much ticked off at women's clothing styles as I am. He's lucky...he can just go and get a pair of 32x32 Levi's 501s and they fit.

Wow, that is pretty cheap. I don't even know what a tailor would charge here in the U.S...probably way too much. At least I can do minor alterations...but I'd really like to learn how to fully re-size a pair of jeans. Shirts are easy, haven't attempted with jeans yet. I'll have to hunt for tutorials.

I wanted to make my own pair once...until I did price checks on denim fabric. $15-18/yard...needed approx. 3 yards to complete this pattern I found. Not to mention the price of denim needles, high strength thread, lining for pockets, rivets, etc. Would have cost nearly $80 just for the supplies and then a few days of my time. Wasn't worth it IMO.

Those prices are pretty low. It would be really cool to be able to go to a tailor and get jeans made specially for you for only $20. I am jealous  .
