@ub3rman123 My relative has that car, he's trying to restore it to the original state. He'll probably never succeed, the chasis broke and the engine support is broke as well. And the gears in the gearbox are destroyed. Too bad, it's a beautiful car.

It's a pity. With very old cars most of the time you're paying for A. The rarity of it, and B. someone had to have kept it not destroyed for 60+ years.

Rebuilding older vehicles- whether cars, motorcycles or planes - is not an easy hobby to get into. First, you MUST have a real love for what you are doing. If you don't you will give up quickly as it can be frustrating in many ways.

Then, you must have the cash available for the hobby, as it can often be more expensive to rebuild an older vehicle properly than to buy a new one. And you will need a place where you can park your project. It will need to be protected from the weather and have enough room to spread things out - even a disassembled motorcycle takes up more space than an assembled one does.

Every mechanical hobby requires specialized - and expensive tools. And, I recommend a large well equipped workbench with a large vise. A few machine tools will help, with a drill press and air compressor being on the top of the list.

I rebuilt several vehicles from necessity when I was younger, and enjoyed it. I would buy a clunker and drive it while rebuilding it, then usually sell it for more than I had in it six months to a year later.

Rebuilds Included a 1946 Willys Jeep CJ, Triumph Spitfire I think it was a 64 model. A US market Ford Cortina GT mk II 1970? (traded this one on my first new car, a Datsun B210 ). 1967 Ford Econoline stretch work van, (Sold for scrap after it was damaged by being hit while parked by a drunk driver - lost money on it as his insurance insisted it wasn't worth what I had in it) and a few others.

I also helped my Girlfriend rebuild the engine in her 1969 Dodge Charger (Which she totaled 2 months later speeding) Her mother said it was unladylike to work on cars. Although I have found that if a woman puts her mind to it she can be an excellent mechanic. The few I know have all been very detail orientated and do good work.

@mythicdawnmaster What size? You can get Atalanta for 950 000 euros

@ub3rman123 Yeah, he bought that car without knowing the ammount of damage to it. Repairing of all the damage costs about 30 000 euros. Too much for him.

@bben46 Repairing a car is unladylike? My ex-girlfriend was a mechanic working on Peugeot cars. Well, she was not really a lady, more of a biker chick. She was starting bar fights and stuff like that.
