NamssogDor
I've played both Witcher games a few times to find added challenges and content, I've downloaded all the DLCs, patches and mods available to date but I find it lacking in adult adventures and scenarios even though it is rated "M". Recently I've read that there is additional content available depending on your country of purchase. Living in the puritanical, backward, MUCH censored US of A, I feel left out and desire to experience the full effort put out by the developers and other aficionados of the genre. If there are, indeed, multi-national versions of this game available, how does one gain access to the "full, uninhibited and uncensored" version? tommy5761
I own the US version and as far as i am aware nothing has been censored . I think that what you are referring to as "censored" is the Australian and a few other selected countries version is where CDPR had to remove 1 or 2 "sex as reward" types of quests like the Succubus and elf woman in Witcher 2 .Witcher 1 has the Directors Cut patch that removes the censored versions . NamssogDor
Yes Tommy, it may have been the AU version I read about - but still if the developers "had to omit" scenes from the US version, isn't that a form of censorship? AND isn't that what drives a lot of modders - the fact that developers would not be able to sell their products in the US if the contained forbidden content? The fact some content is forbidden IS censorship in itself - GO MODDERS! Also, I've been through TW2 4 times now, including v2.0 as well as Dark Mode and have yet to run into the Succubus - where is she? BY the way, I DID make it with the "elf woman" as a reward. By the way, have you seen an "Austrailian content MOD"?

The censorship was for Australia. There was some problem with certain versions of the patches that meant that the two scenes were accidentally removed for some people in other countries, but if you've made it with the elf woman, it's unlikely you have this version. It's easily checked anyway - look in CookedPC and see if the file succubuss.dzip is present. If so, you have the uncensored version. I'm surprised you've never seen the succubus - regardless of whether or not you make it with her, the quest exists and you should get to see her and have at least one conversation with her. Iorveth path, Chapter 2, speak to Ele'yas outside the inn to start the quest "With Flickering Heart". Modding isn't needed to put back the censored scenes. They're in two additional files that are available from a lot of sources and just need to be placed in CookedPC. NamssogDor
Thanks again Tommy and also Dragonbird - I DO have the CookedPC files, so I guess I just missed Ely'yas (more than once). I'm just starting a pass through the game on the crazy setting (waiting for Skyrim) - I'll slow down in Chapter 2. I do agree with other folks about the shortness of the game, I guess it's just too much fun (and intuitive) to put down - so it goes so fast. Why am I getting these "double posts"? He's standing next to the notice board, any time after your first visit to the inn.And you may want to check the Quest List across at the wiki. If you've missed this one, there may be others you've missed.Dunno why you're getting double posts :) Edited November 7, 2011 by dragonbird
