chocolambot
Ok, so in Fallout 3, some audiotapes were read aloud from your pipboy, which was really great. I think if we can do an actor oriented mod, where we have (decent) actors read out all the books in Skyrim and then turn that into a mechanic, so you can open a book and it will be read aloud, even after you close it (like your mind was recalling it or a spell was doing it or something for you), it would make traversing the landscape and reading books more visceral. Thoughts? Because I often skim or simply don't read the books, even though I am interested.
xaliqen
Voice-acting is difficult to do well, but a fantastic addition to any aspect of the game if you're good at it. I'd be happy to contribute recordings for a number of books if this project gets underway. It would be awesome if a number of different people contributed, so you could get different 'characters' reading the material.

Precisely, imagine having a book play out like a radioplay as you are wandering skyrim. :D again, to be lore friendly, it can be as though the story is resonating in the players mind, or a spell is reading the book aloud. gadman85
lol imagine having a book like The Lusty Argonian Maid read aloud. Are you sure you want to open this door?

Rennn
I imagine voice acting wouldn't be quite as tough for voiced books, since you have to sound more like you're reading instead of, say, pulling an arrow out of your arm.
superjeno
I think it's a great idea, and if i ever close skyrim again after friday at 00:00 i would definately consider voicing some parts =) i already did voice acting for Dragon Age: Origins quest and legends mod :P so yeah i think i might be a good candidate =)
PaladinRider
I could probably do this if I could find enough people willing to read all the ingame books. Some of them might be pretty long though. Obviously we'll have to wait for the creation set to come out to see if anythings been changed.

I don't think we would find a shortage of people wiling to read a few books, the longest book in oblivion was only 30 pages, which by reading standards, isn't that long. We essentially just need to set up a repository so we can upload the files and pick all the best quality ones for putting into the mod. I have zero modding experience, hence why it was a request, but I could probably have a go at making the recordings sound consistent with mixing etc.
jmilldog
It might be interesting, but the audio recordings you would need might take up several gigs just to cover the text.
