Is equipment leveled?

Oblivion: iron < steel < silver < elvish < dwarvish < glass < obsidian < daedric

FO3: still using that 10mm pistol at level 30

FONV: still using that 9mm pistol at level 30

Skyrim: ???

 

Do we know if Skyrim's equipment is strictly leveled, like Oblivion, or more role-oriented, upgradable, and perennially useful, like the Fallout games? Or something in between?

I think it's going to be a mix of the two, Fallout had a lot of great ideas built off of Oblivion, and Skyrim has taken notes too.

 

I actually thought this topic was going to be about leveled loot. It annoyed me so bad when I found out that some one-of-a-kind rare item that I discovered at a low level was actually a leveled item, and that if I had gotten it after level 25 only then would it have its full potential. SUCH a stupid idea, I really hope they axed that.

Like the Blade of Woe.....ARRGGGHHHHH :wallbash:. I agree totally. It would be nice if it leveled with you instead of level locking it.

Yeah, keep the item unleveled and at it's full potential, and if it's too easy to acquire, beef up it's dungeon or quest so you have to level to have a chance at it, I think that'd be more balanced.

Or restrict the item to a certain player level, but i agree with the top posters about the leveled items, really stupido :facepalm:

If you have to do that it's just a sign of lazy and poor level/quest design.

 

Locking it off until you got to a certain level WOULD be poor, there's nothing that breaks immersion more than "Sorry, you can't enter this dungeon until you reach level 25"

 

I'd much rather be punished for going in at a lower level by fighting tougher enemies than that.
