Wrye Bash won't start

I've just installed a clean version of Oblivion (C: Games\...) after several years, now patched and ready for modding. I have now installed the latest Wrye Bash but it does not want to start up and an error message constantly pops up at every attempt saying "see the logfile Wrye bash.exe.log for details". Here's what it says:

Traceback (most recent call last):

File "Wrye Bash Launcher.pyw", line 29, in <module>

bash.main()

File "bash\bash.pyo", line 286, in main

File "bash\basher.pyo", line 15400, in InitSettings

File "bash\bosh.pyo", line 34950, in initSettings

File "bash\bolt.pyo", line 1905, in __init__

File "bash\bosh.pyo", line 243, in load

File "bash\bolt.pyo", line 1843, in load

ImportError: No module named bosh

Also, Bashbugdump file shows this message:

Found Python at 'C:\Python27\python.exe'

Launching Wrye Bash in debug mode

Wrye Bash starting

Python version: 2.7.1

wxPython version: 2.8.12.1 (msw-ansi)

input encoding: cp437; output encoding: None; locale: ('en_US', 'cp1252')

bosh.py 8428 __init__: Missing master file; Neither Oblivion.esm or Nehrim.esm exists in an unghosted state in C:\Documents and Settings\Myk\Desktop\Oblivion\Data - presuming that Oblivion.esm is the correct masterfile.

basher.py 4808 __init__: Wrye Bash in ANSI Mode

I don't know how to solve the problem of the program not looking for the master file (Oblivion.esm) in the right place (it's in C:Games\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data).

Can anybody help me??

Cheers,

You're going to have to reinstall Oblivion and be sure to clean the registry entries left behind by the games uninstaller package (as these are most likely the culprit behind your issue). I recommend using Revo Uninstaller to uninstall Oblivion as it automatically scans for and asks if you'd like to delete left behind files and registry entries after you've uninstalled the game. Use Bben's guide and you shouldn't have any problems.
