TequilaW0LF Posted November 8, 2011 Share Posted November 8, 2011 (edited) I think it'd be great for all the 'That Gun' or '.223 Pistol' or even Mysterious/.44 Magnum fans if someone made custom .44 craftable ammunition. I searched it up and found a particular one, but the stats and crafting ingredients weren't too realistic. Custom ammunition like explosive/incendiary rounds, rubber (much like bean bag shells), or toxic rounds would be really interesting. I say .44 instead of .223 or 5.56mm because after some thorough research I found out that it'd be near ineffective for some of these interesting concepts to be implemented, i.e. 5.56 rounds can't contain a significant amount of explosive material in order to produce a high yield effect but a .44 round can (due to size). I may be wrong, who knows, this is just after looking it through quickly on a few sites/wikia/forums. With that said, I thought about balancing and how these types of ammunition, due to their crazy cool yet lethal nature, should provide incentive for players to use them only sparingly in special circumstances, so their required ingredients should be atleast a little challenging to acquire. Crafting could look like: .44 Magnum Round, RubberNot sure yet, have to do some researching as to where in the world I found a misc rubber item in my inventory. Basically this round would be akin to a bean bag shell of a shotgun and produce fatigue damage. .44 Magnum Round, Toxic1 Silver Sting (Craftable Poison)1 Case, .44 magnum35 Lead16 Powder, pistol1 Primer, large pistol EffectsDMG x 1.00CND x 1.25-1 str, -4 hp p/sec for 8 seconds Explanation: As for the reduced poison effect, you can't put too much poison on/inside a bullet can you? :P Also I think Silver Sting is a decent enough rarity for this 'special op' bullet making it more special and less op. The CND would be the barrel corroding due to repeated exposure to the poison. .44 Magnum Round, Explosive1 Cherry bomb1 Turpentine1 Wonderglue (maybe)1 Case, .44 magnum34 Lead20 Powder, pistol1 Primer, large pistol EffectsDT x 2.5DMG x 3Possible knock back Explanation: Pretty much an upgraded and rarer version of hollow point. The explosions wouldn't be too large. The idea for the DT and DMG is based off my research that explosive rounds are actually not too effective on armored targets due to lack of penetration. I saw cherry bomb listed as multiple explosives craft ingredient so thought it was a decent pick as well as turpentine to serve as a flamable ignition for the explosive cavity of the bullet. And wonderglue to seal the cavity and make the value of this bullet more special. But yeah none of this is concrete yet, Id like to hear a few thoughts and if someone decides to adopt this idea and make it real then thatd be completely awesome.
