[Mod Request] - Economical realism - owning a shop

Hello guys,

I hope this instance of TES will have a better economy and I`ll be able to buy some usefull weapons/armors from shops and not only get them via quests/dungeons. After a few levels checking out the shops is a pure waste of time. At later stages of the game you cannot even sell your stuff since shop owners got ridicoulous low ammounts of money compared with items value.

On the other hand I would like to buy a shop from its previous owner, then hire an NPC ( find him in another place and make him an offer). If a quest is in place were I have to supply with goods the shop would be great.

Basic steps

- 1 shop, copy/paste another one in the game if its to hard to create a new one.

- 1 owner npc with a few lines of dialog where for an amount of money you can buy his shop.

- 1 npc with a few lines of dialog where you ask him to be your employee.

- gather some items and give them to the employee so he can sell them.

- return each week to collect your money.

Such things worked for oblivion/fallout new vegas. Hell, I even had my own refurbrished casino.

This is exactly the kind of mod i'm planning to make for Skyrim, i don't know if you ever got the chance to play my mod for oblivion Trade and Commerce. I really enjoyed making that mod and i'll most certainly give it a go for skyrim.

I'm open to any suggestions and features you guys might want to see; if you played my mod for oblivion i also appreciate any critique so ill know what to improve for Skyrim.

When I started the thread I thought exactly at your mod, but I didnt knew if you`re still active. The mod was made using common sense and taste, blending perfectly into TES world. I hope you will make something similar for Skyrim. I would really appreciate and Im sure the community would aswell. There will be tons of "sexy nude rude chick" mods around but what we really need is quality.

I think you should wait a few days, until you get a feeling about what towns are well suited, what parts of these towns are better (we dont want our shop next to a garbage disposal right?), how to construction set works. Things like that.

I would like to help you out: if you need voice acting, translation or anything else just shout.

Also I dont know if its possible but, on a long term, maybe we could get more shops in more towns. After the first shop is well established with a good stock and income we could expand to a second shop. No, I dont want to become a skyrim mogul but I do like to own real estate things. Not only swords, shilds and potions. Is not like "all my goods are in my pockets".

Good to know you liked my mod. I might take you up on that offer for voice acting in the long run, about various shops... that's something i am not so sure about, it is entirely possible but the amount of work involved is a bit too much, i do have a few ideas about adding some more properties you can buy perhaps things that produce goods you can sell in your store, but whether it makes it into the mod or not i still dont know. Hell, if needed I can get my girlfriend to voice act lol

When I thought about more shops I didnt thought about something verry different, basically a clone of some sort. I know these things are time consuming and I dont want to push you to much. Im just trying to gather ideas, then sort them out and drop what`s not needed. I hope the community will put up with some good ideas as well.
