Amjoco
Ok, in the event of the upcoming Skyrim I decided to play some Oblivion on my computer rather than the 360. Not ever have playing it via the PC I thought I would add some mods and one of them added new races to the inventory. I created a new character and started the game and was hyped to play but found out that the race I was playing did not trigger the starting sequence of the dungeon event. I know I can start using an alternate start Mod but my real question is if this race, or any other mod race is played, will it work to effect other areas of the game? There are some passages in the game where they're checking your race against a hardcoded list, Valen Dreth' dialog to initiate the main quest is one of them, a certain Boethia's Shrine quest is another, and those Custom Race Fixes simply add another option for "race not recognized" to the list and things will go on fluently again. Amjoco
Ok, well I guess I should just play a default race then. The Mystic Elf looked very awesome and I was going to give it a run until Friday. Oblivion will be put back in the box when Skyrim is here! Thank you for your help! Lanceor
The custom race fix is part of the Unofficial Oblivion Patch, so you might as well fix the custom race bug and a few thousand other bugs at the same time. ;)
