Denizen
Most of the 'Can I run Skyrim' threads have quad core desktops which will OBVIOUSLY run skyrim better than the consoles so this thread is for those of us with laptops who have nothing to compare to, so please excuse me for creating yet another thread like this. This thread will hopefully help me decide whether to get Skyrim on console or PC. These are my laptop specs: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.4 GHz (64-bit)RAM @ 4 GBRadeon HD Mobility 4550 @ 512 MB (two of these, but max usable VRAM = 512 MB) 17" screen @ 1600 x 900 resolution Can anyone give me an educated guess as to what the maximum framerate on minimum settings might be? I would rather have skyrim on computer but if my laptop is really going to struggle then console it will have to be :(
JimboUK
That GPU is listed as low/medium, the CPU won't do you any favours either. You may be looking a low settings to get a decent framerate, it might be worth waiting until we know just how well (or not) the game does run. Korodic
I'm interested in knowing how a Nvidia GTX 560m would run Skyrim... I'm thinking of getting a new laptop, anybody have an idea? OR can someone who has this card let me know how it plays when it comes out? :teehee:

I'd guess high, as mobile chips go it's a good one. No one will know for sure until we get our hands on the game.

Korodic
I didn't know the GTX 560m was going to produce that good of a result. I was looking at getting it through Malibal w/ some minor altercations.http://www.malibal.com/boutique/pc/configurePrd.asp?idProduct=285It's a good price for all the hardware, but has no graphics card upgrade. So I was a little skeptical...
WorldShaperDragon
Although my desktop should power through skyrim no problem (I did build it as a rendering workstation afterall), I have a cheap laptop I got on sale, which also happens to be the second best functional computer I have, and the best mobile computer I have, and I was mostly concerned about its graphics capability: specs are:i5 2410M @ 2.3Ghz (Its a dual core w/ hyperthreading, SB model i5)6GB ram (~750MB reserved for GPU)Intel HD3000 <-- that is what I'm worried about: I'll be happy if I can run skyrim on this computer on the lowest graphics settings even, I just want to be able to play it period, if say, I am on the train or waiting around or something. I think it helps I have a dinky 1366x768 monitor on it.plenty of HDD space
