Ultimate Gaming PC

Recommended Posts

idk, its just better then the RAM i had all positive reviews (though only 9, but still lol) and yea. it looks cooler then the RAM i have lol. looks count for a lot.

yea i wish i had the money to build something like this. we will see. its not totally unfathomable, like its a lot, but its something id have to see what expenses i have at the time and stuff. id have to start out small though, like only buy one 580, or maybe just get the 2500k (which isnt much of a loss anyways)...get a cheaper keyboard (g110 is what im planning now), get the SSD later, things like that. all that would shave another $500 or so off the initial cost. maybe get the HAF 932 instead. but now im veering away from a ultimate build, and more of a solid build with 580s lol. but its nice to plan out, cause its not completely out of reach if i wanted to do something like this....could save a lot of money on the mobo too. dont need a $350 mobo :P (though it looks cool lol)

and i got the mouse based of that mouse thread someone posted a little while back. it was the cheapest out of the ones mentioned. i just got it yesterday. i wanted a wired mouse, was sick of having a wireless and forgetting to shut it off. and i had dropped it a lot, and it was starting to wear out, was a couple years old i think....really liking the g500 so far. though dont know how macros work and idk how to program them lol

ye thats the problem its not gona be ultimate if we shave off to much, tho you can shave off a lot, excampl get small SSD like 30-40gig maby less just for windows + few programms and use external drive or normal drive for rest. Get smaller memory, 6gig or ram is all you need for now. single monitor, but keep stuff that can allow you to improve easy later on. its expensive to buy whole pc, lots cheaper to improve few parts up to standart. my current pc could be easly improved for like 500 eur to run another 1-2 years no problem.

Lol I can't think that high!

If money was no object, I would build a Mac gaming rig.

I suppose I could go into somewhat more detail

The highest end I7 in existence

3 or 4 Nvidia GTX 590's

1, maybe 2 generic 1500w power supplies

liquid cooling system

whatever the max RAM of the motherboard is (I'm thinking 64GB)

a 120 SSD

a few 2 terabyte drives

a case that is probably a quarter the size of my desk!

nicest gaming keyboard and mouse

a...I donno 120" HD 3D TV (if they make them that big).

Surround Sound system

Realistically speaking, what program is anyone going to be running that needs half the specs people are giving here?!

Personally, the whole idea about spending 10-20 grand on a computer sounds like a complete waste of money, especially when in the next year or so, the "latest and greatest" thing will come out, immediately reducing the price of your rig by half, if not more; what's the point?

point was, its fun to put together hypothetical super rigs,

its for fun. something none of us are going to do unless we win the lottery. i would seriously have to win like a million dollars to spend 10k on a PC. anything less and i got better things to put that money to. like the rest of college and future education, a house, a new car (cause why not?) and of course savings for the future. then, only after all the is taken care of, would i consider spending money on a super rig....but if the winnings are only something like 100k or whatever, the rest of my priorities take, well priority for a lack of a better word, and 10k would cut too deep into a 100k winnings, and would rather keep that money for the things i listed.....though with a 100k lottery, i wouldnt mind spending maybe 5k on a rig, which is why i listed two....the second one being a more obtainable built.

well 5k rig is obtainable, take loan for few years and get it :whistling:

10k is to much simply cos in 2 years 5k rig will be more powerfull than current 10k so you loose to much money.

I like thinking about pc's that you can build on unlimited money, gives you idea on what good pats there are atm, what parts you can get that are close to ideal but wont cost you tons, especialy this is usefull before you buy pc.

hmm... think you cant use 4x 590, its 2 gpu so its 2 max for 4 way sli.

Technically the Radeon 6990 is the most powerful GPU on the market. This is based off testing and benchmarks from multiple sources. And an ultimate PC would have more than one of those. I'm sure there is a motherboard out there that would let you tri or quad crossfire those, The ultimate gaming PC would also be water cooled. There isn't a game currently on the market that would benefit from crossfire 6990s, so one could argue the ultimate PC would be one that could get the most out of anything currently. actually the Asus MARS II is the most powerful single (kinda) GPU on the market

lol and of course, if i had the money to spend on any PC i wanted, i would deff do a lot more research then just picking the highest number (for GPUs)/most expensiv of things off of newegg. lol :P

$1500 card, it probably is the best one currently. Also limited edition, so one would have to get those quick if they were to get them.

i didnt say best per price lol.

For that price, that GPU is completely unpractical considering you could easily get more power for less money with multiple GPUs. For about $500 you can get crossfire Radeon 6950s, overclock and unlock the shaders and you got performance almost as good as that $1500 card. For $750 you could tri-crossfire 3 Radeon 6950s and get a bit more power than the $1500 card, for half the price. Which is probably why they haven't sold out of them yet. That will run ultra/max fps everything now and at least 2-3 years in the future, Radeon 5970 is still one of the faster cards on the market, and its a year old, and its got a few years of quality gaming life left in it.
