Good luck with that, i've been waiting for someone to work on the NPCs for this game for a very long time. It's why i went back to either DAO or DA2 to mod the NPC faces there.

^ It's not that people don't want to make whatever change, but that certain changes are just not possible at the moment. You can do certain things like NPC/follower skin and hair, and even eye color, but not adjust the proportions on their face morph.

Show me proof that you can mod certain things like NPC/follower skin and hair, and even eye color cause a friend of mine named theskymoves said it was a nearly impossible endeavour... He spent almost a week or 2 trying to change one NPC's eye color - Fiona should have dark brown eyes, according to the lore - and simply could NOT locate the ebx that contains the necessary information.

Ummm.... :ermm: Lady-person here. 'She', not 'he'.

I would defer to Nightscrawl on this matter... she's a real modder (something no-one would ever say about me!) and would know far better than I if it's possible... my failure is mine, and nothing more.

Sorry about that and i apologize for calling you a "he", i was just repeating what you told me in the past.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, theskymoves. <3

When I said skin I was referring to skin texture and hair model. There are currently many follower skin and hair mods on the Nexus. You can give Dorian a beard or a mohawk, make Cullen clean-shaven, and so on. As for eye color, there is a tutorial right here. You can change hair color as well (in the hair mesh), but I don't know if you can change skin color with this method.

As far as modding Fiona, I am aware of that issue because I saw theskymoves's original posts about it on the DAI Tools forums (I encourage perusal of this thread). The problem might be that followers, advisors, and other special NPCs use different/additional assets because they are special. In the eye color tutorial, you can see that the person is modding Cassandra's head mesh -- da3//actors//baseheads//cassandra//mt_cbt_cass_mesh .

There are two kinds of files with that information, head meshes, and head morphs. Everyone has a head morph and there are also generic head morphs that are shared among various NPCs. Special people get their own special head mesh, like Cassandra. There are also generic head meshes for various combinations, elf female (what Fiona is), and so on.

Cassandra's morph points to her specific head mesh and her own hair mesh. So you can change her eye color and some limited other things by editing the head mesh, which is what the tutorial does.

Fiona's morph points to a generic elf female mesh, which would apply to all elf females. If you didn't care about this and were only concerned with Fiona herself looking correct, you could presumably edit the generic elf female mesh -- da3//actors//baseheads//elffemale//mt_basa_ef_mesh . All female elves would look the same.

In addition, it seems that that ebx doesn't even have the same parameters for eye color: Cassandra's has EyeTint, TintInner, and TintMid, while the generic elf female only has EyeTint. Even then, I'm not sure that the game would play nice with editing a generic mesh, but that may only be a limitation of the current tools.

My original post was based on that fact that the OP used "face slider" in their post and pointed to a specific appearance that they liked, so I assumed that they would also want to change the actual physical dimensions of the morph itself (nose shape, etc). As far as I know, that is absolutely impossible at the moment. The only thing that we can do are the limited changes I outlined above.

I'll also say that even if we gain the ability to mod head morphs, you will likely only see morphs for followers or other significant NPCs, and not something like Dragon Age Redesigned for DAO. The DAI modding scene is quite limited compared to DAO. Part of that is because of limitations of the Frostbite engine and what it has taken just to be able to do what we currently do, and also that most of the current crop of modders aren't going to be interested beyond modding their favorite characters (look at all the Solas mods).

I wasn't trying to put you down Nightscrawl  It's just that i'm disappointed that i can't mod the headmorphs to this game like i did in the last 2 games which why i didn't play DAI after DA2 because i can't stand the NPC's default looks and Morrigan's Kid being the worst. It's why i went back to either DAO or DA2 to mod the NPC faces there. Something this game lacks besides modding Cullen, Leliana and Josephine or any of your followers but that's about it. I really don't understand why Bioware agreed to use the frostbite engine for this game since it makes it very difficult for us modders to not work on the Headmorphs? I was inspired by Dragon Age Redesigned for DAO because of that and I think Modding is as entertaining as playing the game. I use them and I can tell you I've had so much fun trying out new mods, and seeing the wonderful talents people have but to buy Dragon Age: Inquisition where you have the limited ability to mod the game at all is just a big downer for me. I'm even more annoyed that DICE (the FB3 developer) never gave us a toolset.

Frostbite3 is not Eclipse (DAO) or Lycium (DA2).

Sorry 'bout that, but that's the way it is.

Then what's the point of modding Dragon Age: Inquisition if you can't mod NPC's headmorphs and Morrigan's Kid besides modding Cullen, Leliana and Josephine or any of your followers? Someone said Frostbite really wasn't designed for RPGs so whoever came up with the idea to use this engine for Dragon Age should have been fired long time ago.
