jamochawoke
Ok so I'm about done making the spider creature into a truly fearsome foe. However, I have a problem. Whenever paralyze is used on the creature or it is knocked down (like using the backwards power attack on it for instance) and goes into havok mode... the creature refuses to "collect" itself and get back up. Instead it will just lie there in havok mode until you kill it... or it does something truly bizarre... the computer makes the NPC still attack you, and you can attack it back, but it is invisible because it's body lays there on the floor still under havok. It's like the game is making the NPC ignore the fact it's body is under havok and just come at you regardless of where its model is. Anyone know what the cause of this could be? The model is completely havoked and rigged so I'm not sure if that could be the problem somehow. I've never encountered this problem before with any of the other creatures I've made. The model/skeleton/havok is a modder's resource available on the Nexus but highly adjusted by me with new animations by me.
fg109
It could be that it doesn't have an animation for getting back up.
David Brasher
I had a similar problem recently with vanilla Oblivion ghosts. You can put a script on zombies or skeletons to make them stand up and attack when you approach them, just like the zombies in Shivering Isles. But this script does not work on ghosts. I guess this is because they are a puddle of ectoplasm when they are dead, but the skeleton and zombie bodies are not really destroyed and changed into another form when they are dead. (Skeletons fly to pieces, but they do that if you knock them unconscious too. Then they reassemble to attack when they are no longer knocked unconscious.) jamochawoke
Yeah I don't get it. When I looked at other Vanilla Oblivion creatures like the boar, deer, wolf, et cetera... all of those don't have a getup animation (unless I really really missed it) and they recover from knockdown or paralyze just fine... the game just resets them to their idle animation. Maybe it's hard coded? But the werewolf modder's resource also doesn't have a getup animation either and recovers fine... Either way I'm making a get up animation anyways and hopefully will let you guys know how it goes. If it works that means I'll have to be aware of this problem and make a getup animation for all of my newly added creatures. If it doesn't then... I'll have to figure something else out.
