Anyone manage to get custom Settlements working?

I'm not referring to just getting a workshop set up. I'm having an issue where NPCs won't acknowledge food. They will run to what ever plant assigned to, but the game won't register them as being assigned and after a minute or so they will just wander off. Another issue I have is that the number of settlers and settlement happiness won't appear on the map. I have my LCTN and ECZN set up, and it appears to be correct.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Did you do the:

LinkedRef tab > Ref = WorkshopWorkbench - keyword = WorkshopItemKeyword

 

for each of the food items (and beds, defense, water, etc...stuff that you would expect to see in the top bar of the Workshop GUI)?

 

Also, are you trying to do an interior or exterior settlement? Only time I've seen an issue with the map marker not showing population and happiness was with an interior settlement.
